Really? When Heart turned into a pop radio band in the late 80's for sure I could see it but have you listened to the early Heart stuff? The band was tight then producing some great music bro. Ya BOC is hit/miss and Supertramp produced some great stuff. - LordHumungous
I hate Barracuda. I mean hate.
I can appreciate the musical talent and even the courage for a female rock duo in the 70's to find a space. But as soon as I hear Heart's typical guitar rifts and Wilson's voice I cringe.
In the 70's I think Debbie Harry was the only female I listened to on a regular basis. I'm more of a fan of the gals in the 80's like Pat Benatar. Love PB. Hell, I'd take Joan Jett and Lita Ford over the Wilsons.

So true. If we could count on solid goaltending right away then it would allow for the new players to get accustomed to the playbook.
I'm not sure I would put money on Marky repeating last year's performance. But I hope I'm wrong. - bloatedmosquito
I'm skeptical too but Markstrom buying all in on Ian Clark's teachings hopefully tells us that he's finally turned the corner. I'm hard on the goalies lol but for sure Marky was massively improved last year. Hope it continues.

Interesting take. Not for everyone I'm sure it is what it is. I'd say their pop radio stuff was 'typical' for sure but the prior stuff had some great works. Having said that I have the whole Pat Benatar catalog on vinyl
Joan Jett was hit miss as was Lita but produced good stuff too. Never really got into the whole Debbie Harry thing. My GF loves her but me not so much.

For me, there are no female singers who can compare to Janis Joplin and Tina Turner. But that's a long time ago. Those girls were fierce. Gave it their all. Kind of like the Bruce Springsteen of female rockers.
Pat Benatar is all mine and nobody else's. You keep your filthy hands off her.

I really dig Joni Mitchell. The Blue Album is fantastic.

I understood Joplin but never really 'got' her stuff. Respected I guess would be the term but never listened to much of it. Tina Turner I absolutely loved. Springsteen? Meh...lol

Springsteen in the sense of energy output. Not a fan of Bruce but you can't deny his effort given in concerts.
When groups or singers mail in a performance it drives me nuts.

That's for sure, I saw the Scorpions open for Ted Nugent and they were so good we walked out on the Nuge. - A_SteamingLombardi
Love the Scorpions. Reverse effect here I saw the Scorpions in the late 80's with White Lion opening and I could comfortably say White Lion blew them off the stage. Scorps were still great and all but that was when Vito Bratta was touted the next Eddie Van Halen (the guitarist from White Lion) and he literally stole the whole night. Guy was a beast. Same thing when we saw Bon Jovi with Cinderella opening...Cinderella's energy and connection to the crowd Bon Jovi just didn't have.

Absolutely. Springsteen gave it his all live. Agreed I saw Guns N Roses, Motley Crue, Aerosmith, Foo Fighters and a few others mail performances in and never again paid cash to see them live.

GnR were notorious for that. Too smashed to perform to their abilities. Too bad because their music was so intense any half assed effort was instantaneously recognizable.
heart played at my school gym in 72, what they called a sock hop no one knew who they were of course and I thought their pretty good and they have a chance to make it and lo and behold , they played some zep covers to a tee. - Bettmanhatesus
