No offense to Erod, but a decent top 9 winger makes that a legit line 2.

The defense added a lot of depth but not a lot of skill. They're the walking wounded.

Our goaltending didn't change and has looked crap in the pre-season.

Remember in July when myself and a few others said this roster is shaping up to be near-identical come October 2019 to the roster that was iced last fall? And people attacked us and called us knee-jerk, over-reacting, needed to be patient, etc...

Aaaaaand now I'd like to ask who looks like the fool(s) after we've come full-circle?

We were not over-reacting, we don't need to be patient, jbotts does NOT have a vision, he's doing his job and that's all - he doesn't have much to work with but seriously, he took a job that was sinking quicker than the Lusitania and he has to completely rely on Freedy Kreuger instilling nightmares on Elm Street so his rink-jockeys can play to their actual potential.

I was at an event with jbotts this evening. Not at the arena , during the game. His vision seemed fine 🤔

I can honestly see him getting fired unless we manage to just miss or squeak into the playoffs.

I'm going to predict: October and November are going to be rough. December, we'll start to look a little more consistent defensively once everyone settles down. By the all-star game, we will be hoovering around 12th and Ristolainen will be traded between the ASG and the TDL - I'm calling it now, Kadri will fall on his face in Colorado and we will trade Risto for him in my dark-horse trade of the year, and Kadri of all people will bring a spark to this team that we haven't had since Matthew Barnaby. We will make an epic run to 85pts. but it might be enough to finish just outside the last Wild Card spot - which we will lose to Columbus, who go on to defeat Tampa Bay in the 1st round yet again.

Although it's only an exhibition game against a mostly AHL team, a few of the new guys/bubble guys - stood out for me:

Mojo - very solid all game. The OT goal was just icing on the cake

Miller - can skate, shoot and pass. Great addition

Gilmour > Scandella. Gilmour can really skate, is physical and has a big shot. Gilmour should be on the team ahead of Scandella when McCabe comes back.

Thompson - playing better than Mitts but Thompson still frustrates me with those attempted toe drags instead of SHOOTING THE PUCK.

Vesey - good size, hustle and forecheck. I real nice addition.

Agree with others that Mitts should be sent down to find his game. Or stick him on the wing.
