Given the strife in the room, not sure Wheeler should be wearing the ‘C’ anymore. |

Buff looking for a trade because he is not having enough fun?
Whatever happens, Buff provided great entertain for Wpg hockey fans over the years. Hope he sticks around but its a business after all. |

Two years ago all the experts had us missing the playoffs, we went to the semi finals, last year they had us going to the cup. This year most have us outside looking in. It’s all good. The experts are wrong more often then they are right. I mean they’ve picked the Lightening to win the cup the last 5 years, still waiting. |

The young kids need a fair chance to play over Maurice's reclamation projects Bietto, Bourque and Letestu who really are a huge drop off in skill, but their good in the room. How many games will Maurice get if the Jets can't win or will Maurice skate by because of the weak defense? If they do fire Maurice who do they replace him with? I think that the season will hinge on the play of Niku, Poolman and Heinola, and how Maurice plays them, as well as line combinations and an effective defensive system. This could be a great season or a long disappointing one. |

Well, if Buff is done and you need a playmaking defensemen, would you take Gostisbehere for Ehlers?
Ghost strives with smart, offensively minded forwards. He will make the occasional boneheaded move on defense.
But he has an incredibly team friendly deal.
Both teams could win there. The Flyers need scoring and have a logjam on defense. Myers has to come up. He appears ready. Ghost would be an exciting playmaker on the blue line for the Jets with a very reasonable cap hit.
I don’t wanna see Gostisbehere leave. I like the guy a lot. Just tossing out ideas. |

nope - sparky1957
Just a nope? Let’s not pretend Ehlers doesn’t have his faults, especially in the postseason
Both have played exactly 298 games. Ehlers has 199 points. Ghost has 187. Pretty close!
You’d get affordable D who can put up points. Flyers get a capable forward.
There are a lot worse offers you could get. |

Ghost has too many deficiencies in his defensive game so Chevy wouldn't trade Ehlers for him. |

I’d be more interested in sanheim or a smaller deal for Myers. We have a lot of offensive D that struggle in our end and have D for PP so Ghost isn’t as big a need

Sanheim is a part of the core, so I doubt that’s gonna happen.
Myers isn’t out of the realm of possibility. Philly seems to really like him, tho, and he’s gonna be a cheap piece for them on that ELC for a couple of years |

Just a friendly reminder that goalies are absolutely unpredictable and more responsible for position in the standings than any other position.
With that said, I realize Helly is a question mark but also let’s remember;
Binnington came out of no where and played out of his element, why is it an assumption he will again?
Lehner and Bishop had career years last, the odds are against them to repeat that
Rinne is turning 37, his best years are behind him.
Dubnyk is turning 34 and has gotten worse three straight years

Sadly I think Maurice has a built in get out of jail free card all year unless this really goes off the rails

Roslovic for Myers is a fair trade and gamble for both clubs and is equal money in and out this year |

You could probably get Morin or Hägg on the cheap. Hägg is a steady young defenseman, and Morin should be in the league, but he’s had inopportune injuries and others in his way.
The Flyers sent Myers down for game one so that Morin wouldn’t have to pass waivers (plus cap reasons)
They have 8 legit NHL defensemen, and dunno what to do with them. Haven’t seen that since...

Yeah, we’ve kicked this around, too.
It’s not a bad swap |

Hey thanks very much, I really appreciate that and glad you enjoy reading. Good luck to the Flyers this year, might be one of the most interesting teams to watch.

As tempting as it is with Roslovic, the thing with that is he’s still really green. I mean, if Philly is gonna wait for a guy to blossom, they might as well just use Frost, Rubtsov, or Vorobyev. looks like Farabee will be up in the next week or so. Frost has a good shot of being on the team quickly once his small setback subsides. The kid is fast and skilled.
They need a mid 20s guy who can perform right now.
That’s why I proposed the first offer. |

I get it but I wouldn’t be interested in Ghost for Ehlers . I don’t want to trade Ehlers who has a great contract. I’d rather trade no one and give dallas a third for honka |

The most interesting stat that Byfuglien has with this franchise is 2. The franchise with 9 years of Byfuglien has 2 playoff series wins. I am not putting all the blame on Byfuglien, but there has to come a time when you realize that change is needed. |

What does that have to do with Byfuglien? If you can explain that question to me than I will answer yours. |

You criticized buff for not being a part of a team what wins thin the playoffs, I didn’t like that because it’s a team sport and used Mathews as an example who’s clearly a great player but hasn’t won a playoff series |
