I wouldn't love it, but it's not bad. He could easily slide to RW if needed in the future, so that would be nice. Feels like a contract you'll regret in few years.

I think the best bet is to wait till the deadline and see if we could poach one of Koivu or Staal from the Wild. Hopefully the Sabres are still competitive by then.

I agree. Don't see them sitting a vet this early when they're winning. Imagine someone gets banged up a bit and ERod gets a game that way.

It’s absolutely insane to play him with Skinner and Mojo.

Play him with Mittelstadt and Sheary or Vesey since they are the real 4th line anyways.

Bottom line is they need to make a trade for a top 9 forward if they are serious about winning

The goal the other night where MoJo passed it cross ice to Skinner was a direct result of Sobotka driving to the net & backing up the defenseman to create the lane for that cross ice pass

It won’t show up in any analytics,
but that pass likely doesn’t make it across otherwise

or even on the team

Let’s not forget that i blasted Sobatka when we made that trade & u defended him

But we’ve got 5/6 points
And it seems clear that Botts isn’t trading Risto unless it’s for a good return
And if Roslovic + was gonna happen,
it’d already be done
And Little would be a terrible idea

I imagine the 3rd line wingers & maybe even a call up or 2 is gonna get their shots
It just isn’t likely gonna happen till Sobatka plays his way down the lineup
And he’s been “ok” so far
