Great write up Ben. I like that you brought up the good with the bad with Dobson. He certainly had a few bad turnovers and looked a bit lost at times. Most writers would have just brought up the great assist.
I agree on Leo too. He has played fantastic the first 3 games. He is certainly not the guy everyone on here loves but you have to give him the credit.
the only thing I would say on Varly is he HAS to stop that first goal. The rest was spot on ..

Wonder if Moose goes in for MDC? Probably only a matter of time for Wahlstrom to get a look on the 2nd line. Have to wonder like JHS, if MDC will ever put it together? - ses111
I really think that Trotz moved Bailey over to LW to make that 2RW spot available for Wahlstrom. Clearly Trotz likes Komarov and he's played well through three games, so he's not coming out and Wahlstrom wouldn't bump Bailey or Eberle out of their spots either. So now Dal Colle is an entirely-replaceable RW and Wahlstrom is probably going to be busting his ass to steal MDC's job.
Sucks that Bridgeport has such a wonky schedule the first two weeks or so of the season. They haven't played since Sunday and play tomorrow/Saturday and then don't play again until the following Saturday, which is the first of four games in 8 days, including three in a row |

Was on phone with fine folks at @Delta, who have satisfactorily rebooked me. @StapeAthletic tells me #Isles ran lines (absent Cizikas and Leddy).
To note: Kuhnhackl skated with Nelson and Bailey. Dal Colle centered Martin, Clutterbuck.
Assume Kuhnhackl goes in for MDC. |

MDC just does not seem to want it bad enough. It's nice Bridge has options in Wahlstrom and Otto. |

I don't know if I'd go that far, but he hasn't looked particularly well through three games. But they need to get back on track and if they think Croonjoggle can help with that...then good. Not making any rash judgement based on a three game sample, negative or positive. |

True but with Wahlstrom knocking on the door, MDC is not going to have a lot of time and MDC even playing on the 3rd line does not look good. |

100%.
Barry agrees:
“I want guys who are playing hard,” Trotz said, singling out Anthony Beauvillier. The 22-year-old and Leo Komarov have been the Isles’ two best forwards.
Playing hard is something most Islanders have not done as team so far IMHO. That needs to change quickly. There's no excuse for not playing at 100% |

You have been screaming for him to play the last 2 years and now he's not good enough? Now you're screaming for Wahlstrom. Let the kid get some time working on the structure being played and get used to the up tempo and Checking in the AHL. I think like Toews last year he will get his shot. It's not MT. Snow and the New England Idiots running the team anymore. |

I did not post call Wahlstom up now. It's very possible Wahlstrom might not need the entire year in Bridge. If he does so be it. You do not want Leo replaced so you tell me where MDC fits if he is not getting it done on the 2nd line? I want MDC to work out but he needs to start putting up points if he is going to be in the top 6. You just seem to want to argue every point. Have fun. It's not worth it. |

Yep, that's the issue with Dal Colle. I actually don't think he's looked bad at all. I like that he's been mixing it up along the boards, forechecking well, and moving the play forward more often than not. But, the team has plenty of players who bring that game. The top six...heck, the team...needs to score goals, and Dal Colle hasn't been a particularly big threat in that department very early on here.
That said, I don't know if replacing him with Kuhnhackl really moves the ball forward on that...

All I know is Barry seemed to be unhappy with the team and if he sits MDC, seems he has a problem with MDC. I'll just go back to watching the games and leaving the comments to some of the experts. |
