"Coyle had control right?"
Offside challenge was the right call. Corrected a mistake.
Stop whining.
And respect for Chara was not surprising. There's always been, despite the hate, a mutual respect between both franchises. |

The puck was in his skates, he did not have control and was offside.
Get ready.. Bruins and Habs will meet in the playoffs, Bruins will be big favorites, Habs will win the series. |

Possession with your skate? That’s rarely the case... come on |

i admit the rule sucks when it affects a goal like the one last night but generally speaking, it's not a bad element of the game. being offside can give a player the split second edge that measures the difference between a goal and no goal. it's impossible for officials to always catch it in real time at the speed of today's game. maybe the issue is that the offside rule itself needs to be simplified.

If the officials were properly trained and enforced the rules equally and with consistency, then video reviews and challenges would not be required.
NFL and MLB fans complain about officiating, but they have no idea what terrible officiating really is. No clue. NHL officials wouldn't keep their jobs for more than 1 game in any other major professional sport. It's a disgrace.

Everyone hates this rule when it goes against you but don't complain when it works in your favour. The most frustrating part of it is the time it takes to do the review and come up with a verdict sucks a lot of energy/momentum from the game. I'd prefer that they do away with the offside challenge altogether! If the ref doesn't catch it...so be it! |

"The rule was put in place specifically for egregious (calls). They’re over there for three minutes. You think, well, ‘What is the purpose of this rule?’ Either you find something or you don’t. Three minutes,” added Cassidy.”
waaaaaahhhh it took 3 minutes
His comment about the rule being in put in place specifically for egregious calls is just silly |

Watch the video again. Before he hits the blue line he reaches back with his skate and kicks it up to himself as he crosses the line. |

Honestly, what hockey fan is happy to see an offsides call overturned because of a fraction of an inch. Not me. Going either way. The offsides rule is to prevent camping in the zone, NOT what is happening right now in reviews. It is absolutely ridiculous what is being challenged and overturned. It is not just last nights call.
The play should be reviewed in full speed if anything. Not in suppppppper slow motion. It is doing a huge disservice to the game.
Adding the penalty rule only reinforces taking a goal away based on a millimeter. |

Little sensors under the ice on the lines and goal line. Sensors in skates and puck. You'll never have a wrong call again. |

Excellent take here. I agree completely. Only one thing - it's "offside". There's no "s" at the end. It's a pet peeve of mine, sorry. |

Although I was pissed at the offside call and this can happened to every team not just Boston, I sucked it up. The thing that I will remember the most about this game is the standing ovation the Montreal fans gave Chara. That was classy, and I have to give it up to the Montreal fans for that. You guys deserved the win after a Classy move like that. |

Ridiculous argument.
Getting the calls right is the most important thing. Might as well just remove video review and any on ice call stands. Coyle never had control of the puck hence why he was offside. It wasnt as if he had control and made a deke over the blue line, the puck was passed into his skates, he didnt know where the puck was, he had to look down to find it and was unable to manipulate the pucks movement until after he was already offside. There is no grey area here. It is black and white clear call. He was offside. |

He doesnt reach back at all. The puck is passed right to the back of the skate. He has no idea where it is and stops and looks down. There was no reaching back or kicking the puck up, it simply just hit his skate nothing more |

I agree, if it takes longer than 30 seconds to decide, call on the ice stands |

If it was clear as day they wouldn’t need to zoom in and go frame by frame to catch the one frame that shows his skate enter the zone a millionth of a second before the puck. It took them several minutes to review. Not really black and white at all. |

Yeah, I'm not sure 30 seconds is the correct amount of time. But there should probably be a limit of some kind. |

Agree, if you don't have you challenge put forward in 30 seconds, you lose your option to challenge. Boils me when the team that gets scored on (franks) around for a minute or two staring down at there I-pads and waiting on the guys from there video room to see if it's worth a challenge or not. 30 seconds or the puck is getting dropped! |
