That's fine, my point is more to the hate/anger at him now over a statement. Not everyone has a degree in English, and sometimes it's easy to make a mistake in wording what your trying to get across.

I do believe it is time to move on from Cherry , it's sad that it's over something he was trying to get a good message across. Imo he was bringing light to how those wars are so far back that it seems to have a nonchalant air to it, and generations of people seem to care less and less each year.

I know we're past the Don Cherry conversation but i just wanted to point something out I didn't get the chance to.

Canada literally doesn't have freedom of speech, we have freedom of expression. Hate speech does not fall under protection from this.

Also, freedom of expression doesn't protect people from being fired for things they say.

Just wanted to clarify what the laws are in Canada.

I don't know if you fully understood. He has freedom of expression, but there are no laws protecting employment in cases like this. The company has the full right to fire him if they don't like what he says

He was finally held accountable, this moron made many stupid comments over the years, including comments about woman reporters, non-north American players and political comments.
Again, he should have been gone 20 years ago.
