I think you are being too generous to the play of the Jets and Chicago needs a little more credit for the win.
The period starts when the puck drops, Chicago was ready to go and jets were not. Hellebyck was outplayed, Chicago stars were better than Jet stars. 3rd period was a mess and never had a sniff of comeback in the air - we gave them the momentum and never really had anyone step up to gather it back. The inconsistency was reminiscent of 2018/19 and less like the 17/18 jets.
I liked Sbisa's first period but then he faded - injury? Poolman was everything the article said and a bright spot, Ehlers and Roslovic showed game too. Morrissey was fighting the game yesterday.
I saw the Wheeler penalty differently, it was technically the right call and could have been interference too. A costly and unnecessary action.
I missed Buff in this one. He always 'showed up' when playing Chicago. |

Can the Jets at least find somebody who knows how to coach a PK. They are now the worst in the league. |

To call the Nylander goal a tap in is a big injustice. |

Perhaps there was a lack of focus, Chicago was better at executing on the night. The Jets handily won the shot attempts and chance battle however. I'm not sure which Wheeler penalty you were commenting on. The only call that seemed unnecessary was the too many men call in the third. Who doesn't miss the big man? Let's hope Chevy is the Buff Whisperer.

According to Daily Faceoff, the third line Center for Minnesota tonight is Nico Sturm. He's an emergency call-up. Looks like the Wild are dealing with many injuries so as a result Lowry should win this battle pretty easily. Anyhow onto the comparison:
Nico Sturm:
56% Corsi, 2gp, 0g, 1a, 1pt
Adam Lowry:
48.8% Corsi, 33gp, 4g, 7a, 11pts
Cannot really compare the two based on the small sample size of Sturm.
Next up: Lowry vs. Suzuki

So forget Corsi, who would you take, Lowry or Sturm. on your team?

So Sturm really isn't the Wild's 3C, he's only there now due to injuries to centers Koivu and Eriksson-Ek who were both on pace for 30+ point seasons, even Viktor Rask is on pace for 27 points which isn't great 3C production but it's quite a bit more then the less then 20 Lowry is projected to finish with.
Once again the evidence is overwhelmingly clear, Adam Lowry IS NOT a 3rd line center in the NHL. |
