Why? The whole hockey world knows LE sucks, why would Benning ask Green to play him on the top line? He's not going to have trade value or and no fans will suddenly be tricked into thinking that he wasn't that bad of a signing just because he puts up a few points playing with an elite center. There's nothing to gain unless the plan is to tank.
People need to let go of the LE trade pipedream, it's not happening unless Benning is willing to attach a good prospect or high pick along with him. - Nucker101
I think you are asking the wrong guy. That was Lefty's narrative and he's brought it up a few times but the past theme was about saving face on the contract not showcasing.
I was just being nice when I said "fair enough" to him because I'm planning a surprise attack later.

I agree mostly but Canucks Army the other day analyzed the 3rd line and in spite of getting goals lately, they have had a negative effect statistically. Their defensive coverage, give aways and zone times have been horrid and it cancels out those goals they got in the losing causes. Gaudette's play without the puck and his face offs are very weak. He's a work in progress I know but the idea that his line is clicking so don't break it up is based on a half story. - boonerbuck
It's true, their defensive play is shoddy, but at least their shot quality is much higher than Bo's line since they attack off the rush and go to the net. And Bo's line has looked weak in all 3 zones lately, Vegas dominated that line.
I don't think Bo has as much chemistry with Leivo and Pearson as Green thinks he does. He still thrives off of the rush at 5v5 and those two like to cycle the puck. That's why Bo looked better with Sven in the past, Sven sucks at cycling the puck but he's decent offensively off the rush. |

I never said anything about Eriksson over Roussel, I simply stated Roussel doesn’t belong in the top six. But you keep pushing your narrative lol. - Pacificgem
This is what happens when you disagree with a sentence in a paragraph without considering the context of the paragraph.
Leave my narrative alone. It never did anything to you.

Yeah, my bad, wasn't meant to be directed toward you specifically, more of a general statement since I've seen that conspiracy theory thrown around a few times by different people. If the Flames put Lucic on Gaudreau's line permanently, he'd probably put up a few points but that still wouldn't trick you or me, or any competent scout into believing that Lucic's contract isn't terrible. |

Roussel doesn’t belong in the top six, he’s just an energy winger with limited offensive talent. - Pacificgem
Roussel is a great playmaker chubs. Watch the (frank)ing games |

That kinda feels like "we dont want to try and get something out of the 2nd line if it means disrupting the 3rd line" when you think about it.

I know. I've said as much on the past posts about it. In my heart Green thinks he can get more out of LE so that's why he wasnt sent down. Maybe some sympathy as well.

I think Bo needs a wakeup call at even strength. Even in the past when WD had him playing with scrubs, he used to use his speed/power to drive to the net, now he tries to get cute with the puck, and make low percentage passes or take shots from distance that can be saved with ease. Maybe watching dudes like EP/Hughes/Boeser put up points playing that way have subconsciously influenced his play style.
His 5v5 production isn't that far off of his usual pace, but he just don't look as dangerous with the puck as he did last year and the year before when he played to his strengths.

Bo is in a terrible slump and I dont mean on the score sheet. Just playing horrible with the exception of face offs and eating minutes that others cant put up. I've made no excuses because it seems all mental to me.
Last season for the first half and a bit, Bo was scoring at a legit top 6 pace playing with all kinds of players. He was the driving force. He looked like he burned out with all those minutes and face offs etc but his fisrt half this year looks the same if not worse. So I have no answers. He needs to get his head on straight is all.
