Carol Schram: Canucks bump their slump with a character win over the Golden Knights Elias Pettersson scored twice and Chris Tanev was the overtime hero as the Vancouver Canucks snapped a three-game losing streak in an entertaining 5-4 win over the Vegas Golden Knights on Thursday at Rogers Arena.

I hope this instills some confidence in the group for tomorrow's game against Pitts where they can avenge that massive collapse a few weeks ago.

Thanks Carol.

It would be nice to see the Canucks win the games in regulation and not giving the other division rival a point.

As for you Lefty.

Are you trying to say because Van's top line is productive that the second line isn't? What's the second lines production compared to other teams? As I showed you it's just as high as Philly players in PPG.

The difference would be as I said in Van's 4th line producing at .11 ppg which is probably the lowest in the league.

As much as the games are fun to watch, with the poor defense and lots of goals, you're not going to get many points consistently giving up 40+ shots. They need to be better defensively.

Trade Stetcher, and when Edler is back keep Fatburger on the bottom pairing with Benn.

MA Fleury did not play well last night.

Not looking forward to new episodes of the Adventures of Alex Edler. Fantenberg has been steady and reliable in his absence. With more confidence I think he'll actually be a better option.

I guess NHL DoPS missed the illegal check on Leivo as well. Tough to get those calls right when they happen past your bedtime.

With more UFA's next year we'll close more teams out in regulation.

Until then...lol

If Healthy, You think Baertchi's 20 goals would have helped us?

Are you willing to give a 29 year old 7 million a season until he's 35 years old? or longer.

I feel like this is a loaded question

It depends who the 29 year old is I suppose.

For Kreider? No. I wouldn't give him 7m.
i'd do similar to Bo's contract tho.

Coyle just got how many years at 5.25 AAV

If GM's were smart. I'd see a 3 year 6 AAV deal for Kreider as being reasonable. Nothing more. GM's aren't smart.

...and his passing.

The "health" narrative is pretty weak when you look how many games he's played without injury compared to half the Canucks roster. He's soft but a healthy production player. But this isnt about Sven...

The point I was making is they could call up one of a couple offensive players who can pass a puck and shoot but instead... Green looks to go with another grinder. Again.

Canucks have been losing with Greens 3 grinder lines strategy almost every night lately. The idea that he needs to keep calling up grinders when opportunities for skill to be applied keeps arising shows his ceiling as a coach and where his comfort zone is.

"3 scoring lines".

Really means 3 checking lines at all costs.

Fair points. Baertchi, Boucher and Goldy produce on the farm but don't get rewarded up here. Seems to be a mentality that Green just can't get around.

At the very least we know he'll run Carey Price in the Habs games.

Meh.
They've all been given shots to stick in the NHL and haven't produced.
Gaudette produced and has stayed up.

If Leivo is injured, put JV with Bo and Pearson on the 2nd line.
Motte with Gaudette and Roussel on the 3rd.
Sutter, Beagle and Schaller/Mackewan on the 4th.
