I am disappointed in how the team has played this season. Oddly, they are where I kind of thought they would be but I think it's been too high and too low at times. A young team it happens.

I have liked Benning because he's doing a great job of drafting. His trading is still ok but trading in the NHL is so 50/50.

I don't really know what you mean by contending. To me making the playoffs is contending, which I don't think they are far off that. At that point, it's tweaking and hope that they put it all together to win a few rounds or a cup.

I agree, trades are mediocre at best. UFA signings poor to just ok. That’s why I don’t think he’s the guy to continue building going forward, he’s not very good at filling in the holes to complement the core, other than Miller, who’s worked out really well. But he cost Benning a first round pick on a team still building.

By contending I mean not just making the playoffs but actually having a legitimate chance to win a Cup. I don’t subscribe to the notion if you get in you have a good chance. Sure you have a chance if you squeak in but not a realistic one.

Green fans are running out of excuses

Benning provided him with exactly what he asked for this past off-season and yet after a couple of injuries up front, LE finds himself on the 1st line.

Green is basically a small upgrade on WD at this point.

Leivo out 2-3 months, fuk.

If Green is actually going to follow though with putting LE in the top 6,,, it makes everything I said about Green yesterday look even less flattering.

In the line up is Roussel. He has probably the best chemistry history with Bo and is that rugged player plus more than Lievo. Then of course Sven has good chem with Bo as well and the fact that LE isnt down in Utica and is likely on the 2nd line makes this look like an even bigger circus. Goldy could have been called up to replace Leivo in the top 6 by putting him with Petey and moving Miller down to Bo's line.

So Green loses one of his top 6 dump and chasers, calls up another 4rth line player to sit and moves LE into the top 6. "Three Scoring Lines Travis".
