There is risk in having Sven in the AHL. If he gets concussed down there long term, his entire contract cannot be placed on LTIR like in the NHL.

If the Canucks retain salary, do they get cap savings on retained salary if he is in the AHL as well, or just the team that has his NHL rights?

There was no hysteria on either side. Anyone that argues with Vantel is aware of how he irritates with his projections and reverses what you say until he gets an earful. If you look back I was actually the one posting details and comparisons about players to make a point. If I was discussing those details with Nucker, he would have counter argued in the same manner and things would go smoother.

Not bloody likely.

I would only be guessing if I gave you an answer. I have the same question about retained salary and LTIR.

I've made my case against several claims about Horvat and Petey. Exaggerations north and south don't stand up against the facts. Responses are mixed from people. At the extreme is denial and sarcasm. Not a big deal.

If the cap savings is entirely for the team he belongs too, then Sven would only have 600k cap hit in the AHL. If he became concussed, it wouldn't matter much to that team.

Pretty much, the only thing I think is that if we retain 50%, a team may take him for depth as he is in the AHL already.
- Retinalz

Why take a $1.5m cap hit for him to play somewhere else when you could have a $1m cap hit for him to play in Utica? Makes no sense.

He is a 2.3m cap hit playing in Utica. We only save 1m off his cap. If we retain 50% and get a 3rd for him, or even a 4th it is worth it. We save some cap, and Sven get sa chance to play, which makes us look better in the eyes of potential UFA's and even COllege UFA's.

Minivan to Winnipeg for a six pack of Coke Zero
- Pacificgem

Minivan’s fully dedicated to the hockey talk. Regardless how insignificant it is, as long as it’s hockey related, you got his full and undivided attention.

This past draft was an eye opener. He must of posted stats on a thousand different prospects from every corner of the globe. It was something to behold.

Is there an over-under on the number of penalties Edler takes?

It is encouraging that Fantenberg isn't automatically the one coming out.

Somebody mentioned it last week, it’s too bad that JBs UFA signings seem to be replacements instead of complimenting the existing core. A lot of the same types of players.

Benn needs a break, he hasn't been very good time to refocus.
