Sure he has to be aware of the Markstrom contract situation but 18 months is a long time to sort things through. And is Demko the best goalie choice for Seattle, maybe Hart is available, or Subban or maybe Soderstrom or Sorokin, could be lots of other goalies to choose from.

There are so many easy solutions, and as you say, so much time. Worrying about the expansion draft is hilarious. Benning may not even have a say in the matter, Markstrom might want to test free agency to see what he can get. He might love Vancouver, but maybe he’s always wanted to play in “insert destination here”?
