At the very least this year we can say they’ve been a good overtime team. I’d be interested to see their puck possession stats in OT...they do a good job at maintaining possession through multiple shifts. |

On the road against a western team and the Flyers come away with 2 points. Well done.
Now to do it again tomorrow. |

Just a guess: several weeks of reasonably consistent games would get him back up. |

I agree that the tip pass was sweet, but I actually think he was trying to redirect it on goal, as opposed to sending it across to TK. I could be wrong, though. Either way...LOVE the result! |

Sharks stole my idea of giving players their own goal songs. Do it Flyers.
Only got to watch the 1st last night. Sounds like this one was worth watching. |

While it was absolutely worth the watch, it was also an extremely frustrating game. The refs really tried to let the Blues back into the game by calling soft penalties against us, but refused to call similar plays against the Blues in the 3rd after going up 3-1. |

Yes. I've noted that as well. They're good at faceoffs, so they normally get the puck right off the hop, but they're also great at keeping it. I always have great confidence that they'll score in OT. Shootout is what it is but even that we've been better at. |

The "slash" on NAK was a terrible call. |

Yup, I also thought the Raffl call was iffy. But they missed Laughton being held and the Couts took a cross check. It was also a joke Perron only got 2 mins. IMO, TK should have gotten 2 mins roughing and Perron should have gotten 5 min major |

That's what I thought. I wonder if it merits a review by DOPS? It's basically a head shot. |

After reeling on the west coast trip 3-1 was really a must. And they pulled it off. A bad stretch over these last 4 games could have really buried them.
I think they can make noise if they can reach the playoffs with a healthy roster. |

I have to agree. The holding call on Raffl was a BS call. Raffl and Schwartz were battling for position in a puck battle and Schwartz went down. It wasn't a hold. Also the slashing call on Aube-Kubel I believe was also a weak call. It was a love tap and a player needs to hold onto his stick better than that. Couturier took a nasty cross check while being down on the ice that should've been called. |

Konecny was good with it. Said Perron apologized and told him he was not trying to get him in the face. Classy of him. Accident or not, it’s still a 5 min major and a game misconduct, especially because he was bleeding. Most players don’t try to high stick the other team, but that doesn’t change the outcome.
I hate reviews, but for certain ones like that they should be able to review like targeting in the NFL. |

Any interest in a Gostisbehere for Alex Tuch swap (assuming Ghost comes back healthy for a couple of games before the trade deadline)? It's clear Ghost doesn't fit with AV, and Tuch is struggling this year with Vegas. Vegas needs more offense from the blue line and the Flyers need help up front.
Ghost - 26 yrs old, 3 yrs $4.5mil. per remaining contract
Tuch - 23 yrs old, 6 yrs $4.75mil. per remaining contract
Both have played much better in the past than they are this season, and a change of scenery is likely best for both. |

Nothing on that play warranted a 5 minute major and a game misconduct. Not even close to that level.

The EPL in the UK instituted replay this season and use it not only for goal reviews but also for red card situations. It’s an interesting use of replay for sure, but you would only want to limit it to major penalties. |

Did you happen to read Vigneault's comments on Gostisbehere when they learned he would be out with an injury?

oh wow, didn't know that. Props to Perron for apologizing. I can see it being easy to catch TK in the face with his height lol, but as you said, accident or not it should be 5. I agree about reviewing penalties. Rewind back to last season.... remember Hagg got 2 different 4 min high sticking calls on plays where his stick wasn't even the stick that struck the opposing player! |
