Agreed with missing those personalities. But this year as a team I feel we definitely have more personality than last year. Hayes seems like a real locker room guy and you always hear him shouting during the post game helmet videos. TK also seems to be adding more personality as he's gotten more comfortable in the league. - arichardson22
Hayes is so dull in interviews and I hate his voice.
what's the over/under on number of years before Doc retires? - aightwebang17
I was wondering this the other day. When he did the Caps-Flyers game last week, he made a few mistakes with players names and numbers. I wondered if he’s losing a little bit of his sharpness or touch. Could have just been a bad night in the booth though.

I really do enjoy listening to him call a game, doesn't matter the teams that are playing...I also liked listening to Gary Thorne (voice wise calling a game) as well, unfortunately he could not keep all the players straight and was not a great hockey guy like Doc is.

Definitely like this idea. Might be tough with trades. Definitely miss the personalities of Roenick, Hartnell and Pronger. Definitely miss the identity of toughness these personalities backed themselves up with. - SuperSchennBros
I think Hayes is bringing a solid personality to the team, on and off the ice. Clearly not the toughness of the aforementioned Hartsy and Prongs, and not the scorer of JR, but he's doing it in his own way. Already wearing an A too, i think that says a lot of a player only in his first year with the team too.
As far as play by play announcers go, I always liked Strader, but Forsland down in Carolina is very good, too. Listening to Jake Edwards in Boston is like nails on a black board. I mute the sound on my TV when the Flyers game get the Boston feed.

Hayes has impressed. He's got great vision and control, defends well, is a solid PKer, and he slows the game down when he's got the puck...he just has a way of making the smallest of movements to avoid defenders and open up the ice. And if he's a good, positive presence in the locker room, that just adds to his value.

Doc is too much for me. Too many years of listening to him call Devils games. He's highly skilled but his vocabulary has worn very thin with me.
Thorne mispronounces too many names for my liking.
Funny how the 3 on 3 has evolved into this battle for puck control as opposed to the up and down chaos that it used to be. I believe the Flyers had only one SOG in 3:33 of OT. Fortunately it was all they needed.

It was only Chaos for us lol
Other teams seemed to know it was a possession game especially when they played us.
