Toronto does seem like an obvious option.
You aren't going to get Kapanen, though. |

What would make this meatball a lot spicier would be if NJ took Ceci in the deal.
Then obviously (franking obviously!) New Jersey's ask becomes much bigger. |

Quality defenders are usually fairly scarce come the trade deadline and Vats is a legit guy. I get he's not a star but the minimum expectation should be a 1st rounder. Or if not a true quality prospect and lesser pick. |

Devils could easily absorb the remaining Ceci money and Torontos cap # would only go up 300k if Vats and Ceci were swapped. The question is what non-roster players Toronto would be willing to part with since I doubt they'd want to give up anything on the NHL squad.
Have to assume Liljegren is untouchable unless NJ adds a ton, and they don't really have much they can afford to add. |

Didn't Ek say a few weeks back that the Leafs were like e3 on Vatanan? |

I was just looking at trades from last year's trade deadline - rental players just aren't getting the value they once were.
Muzzin is a good comparable - there was a 1st round pick and some irrelevant garbage.
But Muzzin still had a year left on his contract.
Can I interest you in a Bracco? |

I've put this question to the committee in the Leafs thread.
We will have our binding offer back to you soon.

Jets shouldn’t be trading assets for pending UFA’s.
Now you want to talk about a larger deal with the Jets that includes Hirschier, sure |

Hischier just signed a 7 year extension and you know, a first overall pick, so perhaps that isn't a reasonable ask. What do you think. |

Hischier for Byfuglien E4. |

I don't get the obsession with trading vats tbh..hes the only one producing offence from the back end and while his defensive numbers are underwhelming i still think the devils should keep him Because no one has been able to produce like him since he's been here the devils will really miss his offense ((and even defense honestly))..i also think he would be better on a better team, what the devils should do is add a defender (left d pleeeaase) not subtract one |

its his expiring contract and the next higher contract that entertains the thought of trading him. honestly, I would be for trading him. Yes he's a "great" dman, but the team really didn't improve during his time here. Re-signing him for 6m? would be more of the same for this team.
Rebuilding is the key word, too bad the Preds aren't very good this year. Poile tends to handout high draft picks when he thinks they have a chance at a cup. (1st rounder for Hartman, wtf?) Could have offered Vatanen to them for Ekholm and a 1st rounder

Bracco and a decent pick should do it. |

Well, the Leafs already have some Gravel in their system, not sure they need Wood.
Stone is better than Wood. Haven't you ever read The 3 Little Pigs?
Maybe if the Wood is Black, then it would be more appealing.
I apologize in advance for this post. |

Who could get upset with a three little pigs reference?
As Trump would say, the post is "perfect". |

Black Wood is our only worthwhile goalie. They are going to have to settle for just plain Wood. |

Too bad Wedgewood never panned out, we never got two different woods in goal on back to back nights. |
