After what’s happened this year with Hall have a hard time believing he is getting any max deals anywhere?...Im thinking 9 mill a year will be his top offer in off season and for 6 years tops...what do you all think? |

It would be absolutely hilarious if AZ is forced to trade Hall when if they fall out of the playoffs. They won’t get a prospect like Bahl back in return. Should still get a first round pick but won’t be as high up the draft board as their original pick. All in all, negative yield scenario. Their best bet would be to try and grab a better D or G. They’re already in to this pretty deep so I say go even deeper. It looks like cowardice if they cut bait now. |

Does Chayka have the stones and the job security to let himself look like a coward? Maybe. It's probably the right move, but it will take some salesmanship not to lose the fan.

A young David Poile was running around the Spectrum in 1966 when this was happening. |

Coincidentally, Poile was also the greatest GM ever at that time. |

I wonder if he ever thought of trading Toews and Keith for Doughty? |

So as usual, the BS headlines get us talking. It’s completely without shame or pride, but EK knows how to keep a busy site.
As a Jets fan, I can assure you that this statement is untrue. Chevy wouldn’t “rent” a D man at this point in time. They are days away from a solution with Buff that will free up cap space for D men (yes, more than one) with term, RFA status, or an understanding of likely UFA extension. He would not trade anything for Vatanen if he feels that Sami would sign with NJ again in July.
And Hall... it’s easy to call Chayka an idiot right now. I haven’t trusted the Coyotes to be even watchable, let alone a playoff team/contender. He tried, and it didn’t work. Now if OEL doesn’t come back yesterday, Johnny boy needs to tuck his tail to save his job. This advanced stats wizard looked to be taking a statistical approach. However, with big swings this season at both Kessel and Hall, he clearly played his hand and said “this is the year we are supposed to be good”. He may be looking for a new job in 2020 anyhow, but a decent recovery of assets just might buy him time for a Hail Mary after game 82. |

The West is so weak that they'll probably back-in to the playoffs and promptly get bounced. They are in no-man's land. Even though they didn't give up much for Kessel, they have his declining, no-defense ass for two more years at $6.8M. I didn't think Arizona was close enough to be acquiring guys like Kessel and Hall. At least they've got goaltending going for them. |

He may be a stats wizard, but his asset management is questionable, ever since that Stepan trade I knew something was amiss. |

So the Islanders are going to trade for another impending free agent? Are they going to fume and scream when he signs somewhere else?
A new species.... the Hall Snake. Bigger than an anacondo but not as strong, and gets hurt much more easily? |
