I’m not sure anyone is saying he had a good game, but he certainly wasn’t the reason they lost. He made some great saves to keep the score closer than it was, but also had some gaffes. Team loss.

There are 32 number one goalie spots in the league... Marky's stats this year and last are starting goalie numbers. Is he going to be that guy that wins you games all by himself like Luongo? Nah, most likely not. But he's giving this team above average (for starting goalies in the league) goaltending on a team not known for its defensive prowess.

For me a goalie need to average better than 1 shut out per 500 games (hyperbole) to be worth the investment.

Cant remember where I read it, but his comparables....I believe Grubauer is one, are 3-4 years at $4.5 per...he's not getting $6.5 per from Vancouver - thats fuckin stupid and ridiculous to even suggest...
