Trading Markstrom is one of three particularly bold, forward-thinking moves that the Canucks could make but I'm sure won't. Others are flipping Tanev for a pick — late 1st? early 2nd? — then flipping Virtanen for a younger defenceman you find interesting.

I wouldnt worry too much about Gaudette. Given that hes only played 2 seasons, it might be fair to say his peak is #LC, which is ok by me. I think he can be a real good one who can spot duty the 2LC. He needs to put on some weight tho.

They also have Madden at centre. But ya, keep drafting them, can never have enough....

This team with Petey and Gauds in it is currently the toughest it's been in almost a decade. Despite what some may say, the Canucks really haven't gotten pushed around in many games this year.
