I wouldnt worry too much about Gaudette. Given that hes only played 2 seasons, it might be fair to say his peak is #LC, which is ok by me. I think he can be a real good one who can spot duty the 2LC. He needs to put on some weight tho.

I dont see him as legit nhl centre, at this stage of his career.

Petey will score 30 this year by the looks of it, I think 25ish games is enough for him to get 7 more. Miller could get there too. That's why I don't really see the logic with you saying Kane adds something we don't have.

sub-40% faceoffs through more than 40 games is pretty telling. I still like him on that 3rd line just for the sake of keeping Sutter and Beagle on the 4th together

I don't think you need one guy to do both those things. As long as the top guys aren't getting ragdolled, Let the 3rd and 4th liners handle the rough stuff.

Kane will cost too much to acquire and his contract is a dangerous thing to take on given his injury history and inconsistency though the years, not to mention the bad attitude and past locker room problems.
