I don't think you need one guy to do both those things. As long as the top guys aren't getting ragdolled, Let the 3rd and 4th liners handle the rough stuff.

Kane will cost too much to acquire and his contract is a dangerous thing to take on given his injury history and inconsistency though the years, not to mention the bad attitude and past locker room problems.

- NorthNuck

Disagree...you need a guy like Ferland or Kane who guys respect physically, especially in the playoffs, but can contribute top six minutes or punch you in the head if you take liberties with Pettersson.

I don't see anyone taking runs at anyone in our top 6 this season. I agree it's great to have guys like that, and hopefully Podkolzin will be that guy in a couple years, but the price to pay for Kane is too steep right now.

I know playoffs are a different beast, but if you think Miller or Horvat won't stand up for the Petey or Boeser if someone takes liberties with them, I think you're wrong.

I don't think anyone was ragging on Gaudette.
Just because u have an opinion on what I have observed so far, doesn't mean I am ragging.
I dont see him as legit nhl centre, at this stage of his career.

- Reubenkincade

or that you are right

Just kidding.

It's not as if the 5th round pick is lighting the league on fire. Or going to get selke nominations like Kesler did as the same age.

He's got room to improve and he will. We hope.

If someone like Kane runs over Boeser, you going to put Schaller's line out vs Kane's. They will probably get scored on before Schaller has a chance to do anything,

Yeah but you see the difference that someone like Miller makes on the rest of his line. Not playing like Matt Martin but not being pushed over. Boeser, Virtanen, Horvat are all the same size as Miller but they don't play with that same elements that Miller does. They don't all have too but it would be nice if they showed some push back more often than they have been.

Petey was annoyed at the Kings in that one game and showed push back.

I was surprised to see Virt get in a fight last game, but something tells me playoff hockey might bring a little more snarl out of him.

It really annoys me that Horvat doesn't play with a bit more edge. He's great defensively, but he's got the build to be a bull in a china shop and he so rarely shows that kind of play.

Where were they vs Boston when Petey received the late hit?

Horvat just needs to run someone over once and he will enjoy it and want to do it more often.

One of my few concerns with Bo as Captain is that he would use the Sedin moniker and so far that looks like that's it. He does need to step up in this regard. I'm hoping he will take more on as he gets more seasoning as Cap.
