That for me is the primary appeal of Tryamkin. At heart he's just as soft as everyone else but he can and will hurt people even when he doesn't mean to. And, if he ever does lose his temper, oh oh.

Swapping out Fantenberg or Stetcher for him probably doesn't hurt you much defensively but I think he definitely would make the Canucks less fun to play against.

I’d like a team that recognizes when the refs have put the whistles away, and capitalizes on that. Get the extra shot in after the whistle, bump the goalie, hit a little late. Push the envelope. It’s not about fighting, it’s about grinding the other team down.

The Canucks keep talking about playing within the rules. Well, if the refs don’t call it, it’s within the rules. Let the other team expend their energy complaining to the refs about a missed call. Laugh in their faces when they start to get frustrated. And when they take a stupid retaliation penalty, that’s when you make them pay on the power play.

I have no issues with Beagle, he plays his role well.

It seems the softness epidemic is all over the league, even the Florida blogger is complaining about the softness of that team.
It's not just a problem with Canucks, but Leafs and Panthers are just as bad.
