Exactly - Thinking that anyone wants Sven as part of any deal is hilarious, including a 2nd to offload him is even funnier
- Brooks_Light

Is Sven still playing for Utica?
honest question.

He hasn't figured that out yet.

Oh I knew all along it was just so absurd I didn’t wanna acknowledge it - along with the fact that Simmonds is useless

Leafs sell a one year 6 mil contract for a first rounder but it is absurd to think we can't off load a one year 3.3 mil for a second rounder?

Cheers.

So couldn't Vancouver in theory find a team willing to take his salary in exchange for a pick (not unlike Marleau)?

Maybe NJD?

Yup totally absurd - completely different situations, unless you’re finally admitting the cap is a problem?
Sven is a buyout - if we lose a 2nd to offload him I’ll pay you any amount of money you wish x

Absolutely but I don’t think JB is desperate enough to include a 2nd to do it - that’s the only absurd part I believe

Cap is not a problem . Take a look we were compliant. We will be again next year and the year after and each one after that.

Does not mean that you are not willing to make adjustment each year to the team to position them better.

I promise you we will have at least 22 players next year and we will be under the cap. This cap issue is old and boring.

Trading 2nds to make cap space would indicate a cap problem to me.

It would be a problem if they had to . They don't have to do fuk all . They can easily sit and do nothing and ice this team that every one complains about.

I will save all you cap strategist and experts the time . Benning has hired real experts to worry about being cap compliant . We will meet the requirements . You can all relax.

Not liking the bang you are getting for your dollar does not make you in cap trouble. It is one thing to not like the contracts you have but you can sit back and be cap compliant with this current roster .

Canucks have about 20 mil next year and 8 spots to replace . They have 3 .5 in Bonuses to pay out.

A trained chimp can bring in 8 players at 16.5 mil . You probably wont like them but you are cap compliant.

Upgrading your roster is a whole different subject. Which one are we talking about?

Carol Schram: Boeser is injured, Pettersson gets battered as Canucks fall to the Flames
Looking to reverse their fortunes after losing the last three games of their recent road trip, the Vancouver Canucks got outplayed by a division rival when they dropped at 6-2 decision to the Calgary Flames in their return to Rogers Arena on Saturday night.

- Carol Schram

Excellent recap of the game. Buckle up could be a rough spell coming up.

And I believe that - but if attaching a 2nd to get rid of him is legit - then the cap is the direct motive. The comparison to Toronto is irrelevant bcus that move was out of pure cap desperation.

The idea of losing picks to get rid of him is infuriating - buy him out over the summer.

Keep dreaming bud - there's a better chance of Gadjovich beating C.McD in the fastest skater competition at next years all star game.

You buy him out the cap hit is over two years. Trading him the cap is gone now.

Lets keep in mind Benning has not given up a second . It is all us experts suggesting this playing armchair GM. No actual draft picks to date have been given up.

I have looked at the cap space over and over and know they can sign their UFAs and RFAs and be cap compliant for next year. I will suggest they are not going to resign Stecher because he can be easily replace much cheaper.

The question remains are you happy with this roster. They can fit it in under the cap. It comes down to do you want an upgrade now or do you want to wait until contracts expire?

Still not a cap problem.

A few weeks ago he was a blight on the honour of the sport. I can't help but be impressed by how quickly and effectively he has flipped the script.
- Carol Schram

I'm not sure the whole hockey world feels the same way. He's been the same player the whole time, he had his reasons for not fighting initially and it made sense. I think it was more about Oilers and anti Flames fans seeing what they wanted to see.

Tkachuk has answered the bell in the past, the Doughty thing comes to mind. In that moment of a close game, it was better for the team to win than to fight Kassian, it was all about throwing the Oilers of their game which is what a good agitator does.
