Carol Schram: Boeser is injured, Pettersson gets battered as Canucks fall to the Flames Looking to reverse their fortunes after losing the last three games of their recent road trip, the Vancouver Canucks got outplayed by a division rival when they dropped at 6-2 decision to the Calgary Flames in their return to Rogers Arena on Saturday night.

#Flames coach Geoff Ward on Matthew Tkachuk's fight after Canucks opened scoring: “I’ve seen a lot of key guys and key leaders, like he is on our team, step up and do that time and time again. I mean, how many times did Jarome do that over the course of his career here?”

Brock Boeser will miss the next two games and be reevaluated after that, per Travis Green. #Canucks

A few weeks ago he was a blight on the honour of the sport. I can't help but be impressed by how quickly and effectively he has flipped the script.

Facing the music with Kass was a big factor.

To be truthful I was always in his corner while that was going on. He stole the two points from that game . I knew all along he was not afraid . A Tkachuk will always do whatever it takes to win. I knew he wasn't afraid to fight Kassian , he just outsmarted him and the team.

Canucks can use one or two of that type of player.

I wonder what the opposition will do once we get Ferland back, if they will still take liberties then, or take a step or two back, knowing he'll be there to defend his teammates.

Roussel needs to change up a bit and get back to the agitating, get under your skin, I'll fight for my teammates when and wherever attitude. he seems to have lost a step along the way since January the way I see things.

Wayne Simmonds .. I wouldn't mind seeing Wayne on the team, he may be past his prime, but I think he's lost his game a bit on an atrocious New Jersey team. I feel he's an upgrade on Roussel in the sense he can produce more offensively, while still playing an agitating, grinding style of game.
what would it cost to land Simmonds? probably our 2nd or 3rd round pick, or a combination of a pick plus someone from Utica (sven baertschi maybe?).

He doesn't want to be part of the Sedin jersey retirement.

I'm predicting loses for both of the celebration games.

Hadn't noticed.

I think we tried with Ferland. Just couldn't forsee the injuries.

Ferland can't defend anyone on this team, he can't even defend his own brain from being pudding.

Using a #33 jersey as a shot rag?

I agree . Benning has tried to address the issue . With the uncertainty of Ferland you need to find a plan B

Go after Tyler Toffoli or Dillon? It's going to cost. Or stand pat and go with what you have?

I am curious why people want Toffoli?

Also Tyler Toffoli is getting a lot of interest. I think Pittsburgh is a team that would like to get in on him, maybe the Calgary Flames among others.”

I guess we'll find out if there is a Plan B. I'm still hoping things work out in the long run for Ferland. I don't enjoy watching careers get shortened like that for anyone.

A 2nd round pick and Adam Ruczika was the rumour I heard from Calgary and Galchenyuk plus 3rd from Pitt.

I seen this proposal from one of the Vancouver writers for the Athletic . I would love to see it executed for many reasons.

To Ana Loui Woo and a 2 nd

To Van Nick Ritchie.

I would even sweeten it to 2 seconds or OJ instead of Woo.

Price is steep, especially in a year you probably won't have a first rounder. You need to give to get right? Tyler Toffoli & Dillon are both UFA's this summer. Tough call.
