They'll miss his overtime Stanley Cup-winning goal style of play. |

Solid, no-nonsense defensemen, good skater, shot blocker..
Kings getting 2 second rounders for a 32 y/o isn't a bad get either.. |

Good trade. Maybe could have gotten a little more since his cap hit is good and has 1 more year left, but still overall a good trade. Just hope Carter, Quick and even Brown can get moved. Or at least one or 2 of those 3 |

I don't see any of those guys moving. Lewis may bring a later pick. They may decide to move Forbort, but my guess is they will extend him for another 2-3 years.

Loading up on draft picks. Early ones too. Love it
This draft is suppose to have good players in the 30-80 pick range. We’ll see.
They definitely need another 1st but now I doubt that happens unless they swing something at the draft table |

I think it will continue to be an uphill battle for Blake in regards to those guys, but I’m looking forward to see what he can do |

In this years draft I know logically we need quality D men but I just want to load up on all scoring forwards in the first two rounds. I like what Bjornfot brings to the team but can help but wonder if we are going to regret not picking Tomasino or McMichael last year because they are scoring at a blistering rate this year and look to be big time offensive producers in the NHL. |

Keep in mind that guys like Tomasino and McMichael are overagers with 6' 180lb bodies playing against kids younger, shorter and lighter than they are. They're expected to be tearing up juniors. It's nothing like what they'll face in the AHL and, particularly, the NHL. There's really no telling how much of that production will translate until they get a taste of the pros.
With Bjornfot, it's easier to tell that he'll make it in the NHL because his game is simpler, he played pro hockey against grown men in Sweden before he was even drafted and he has nearly a full season in the AHL under his belt already. He'll most likely be in the NHL next year, as a 19 year old, while Tomasino and McMichael are probably 1-3 more years away, if they even make it... and, even if they make it, it may be as 2nd-4th liners and not exactly regret inducing. Bjornfot may not be as sexy of a prospect, but I think that his odds of becoming a top-4 NHL defenseman are much greater than their odds of becoming 1st-line NHLers. |

There were rumors in Carolina that the Canes were talking with LA. My hope was for Martinez. Talks must not have progressed beyond the Vegas offer. |

Overjoyed for the kid. He must have faced some dark times over the last ~18 months. |

Kings sign Martin Frk to a 2-year $750K AAV extension.
It's a one-way contract, so he'll make that $750K whether he's in the NHL or AHL.
I'm delighted about this. I really figured that he'd be gone this Summer. |
