Everyone calm down yet?
Jultz isn't playing well and as much as I want to see that change, I just don't see how.
I just don't understand the reasoning for Rust on the LW, he isn't near the player on the left that he is on the right.
Murray isn't losing games but he sure isn't winning them either. He is an above average 'tender and needs to be paid accordingly. Not going to be here.
On the positive side, I liked the McCann-Blueger-Tanev line.
Crosby and Zucker are playing well together. It will be interesting next year to see who gets who (Guentzel). One thing is for sure, Crosby will get one and Malkin the other.
Dumo is the big piece we are missing. Marino also but Dumo especially. |

Agreed that the D was not great but Johnson was not NEARLY the worst, but suits RW’s narrative to hang it more on him.
No need to add Bogo (right handed JJ) or Jumbo or Sheary or Simmonds. They need health. |

I would say Petts was EASILY the worst dman today. I worry about him long term. Hope we didn't pay 4 mil for a 3rd pairing defender.
I don't know what Riikki did to Sullivan, but his days are numbered in a Pens sweater. Not saying he's Ian Cole or anything, but don't tell me he's not better than Trotman. I still can't believe we swapped out Cole for JJ. |

The only full game I missed watching this year was the first one vs Caps...and it was my understanding that Murray was a beast in it and main reason they won.
I just don't get the bashing him for this one. Two of the goals were so random and chaotic with his own players f'n with his movement and sight. One of the others was a breakaway.
Season series 1-1.
I had no idea that Dumo and Marino were joining them for the trip...that's excellent news. Dumos ETA was 8 weeks and it's been much longer than that so I don't understand the rushing him back comments. |

The bashing is due to his inability to be consistent this year.
No one in here can claim they aren’t a bit nervous with Murray in net trying to hold on to a lead, he is always good for one gimme goal a game it seems.
This is a contract year and I see very little battle out him. He knows he is MS guy and IMO act like it. |

My issue with adding Joe would be that when Bjugstad gets heathy, he is a faster younger Joe for the 3C and it wouldn’t cost them anything. They don’t need to give up futures for anything, they need Bjugstad, Khaun, ZAR, Dumo and Marino to get healthy. Those are big adds. |

Yeah, I don’t understand the handling of Rikki. Maybe they see Trotman as more physical, but he certainly isn’t a better option IMHO

DeSmith was scratched today from an important start. Didn’t even dress as the backup. That’s interesting if he wasn’t sick. |

I don’t think Joe will cost much to get. SJ will trade him where he wants to go because this is likely his last season and certainly his last chance at a cup.
As for Bjukstad, faster and younger for sure, but he isn’t anywhere near as good as Joe, even at 40+ Thornton is more valuable that Bjukestad especially in the playoffs.
Also someone to win it all for can go a long way in a long playoff run. |

They would move DeSmith before Jarry or Murray, but is that smart if you need to move one in the offseason...right. DeSmith is a better next season back up options than the youth down there right now. |

Unless Bjugstad can't return I'm not sure that is necessary. But I honestly have no idea who is on Jim's radar right now. |

My point was more is there a need to move more assets when all of that will be returning. |

Hahaha, that is the most true statement regarding a Penguin player not in the line up. That was well played. |

Depends on the asset. Thornton gives us a better chance than bjukstad |

Bjugstad also plays RW, so the Pens wouldn't need to obtain anyone else. With Rust likely staying at RW with Geno in a healthy lineup, that leaves Bjug, Simon and Horn to rotate around.
Zucker-Sid-Simon/Bjug/Simon
Kahun-Geno-Rust
McCann-Joe-Horn/Bjug/Simon
ZAR-Blue-Tanev
Works for me. |

I think at this point I prefer Bjugstad, if he is healthy. Bjugstad is going to provide a needed boost in shot production to the bottom 6. |
