I have a feeling we’ll get him - Barnaby36
Probably, but I think it's a dumb move. At least Thornton will get some reputation calls. Prior to yesterday's game, Thornton had 2 goals and 23 assists on the season. He's a -13 on the season and is sub-.500 on faceoffs. What exactly is the point of acquiring him? Sentimentality? It surely isn't to improve the team. Blueger is a better center than Thornton is right now. Let that sink in. |

If this is the way to go, go for Dumba. One of our top prospects would have to be involved on this deal unfortunately. I’d deal Légaré if we landed MD24 - Barnaby36
Edit: On closer examination, we don't need a RD. I'm fully confident in Letang and Marino as the top two on the right side. But I like the quality of player as a target. |

We don't have what it takes for Dumba. |

Good thing is Blueger has his spot guaranteed. Thornton could work well for us. Remember we have been seeing a lot of Agozzino lately..
Thornton, Dumba and Ennis and go for the cup! |

Off course we have. Why would you say this? 2021 1st RP, Schultz, Légaré, Poulin, Bjgustad, so many pieces to work with. |

I agree. We have all our picks in 2021 and 2022 and two forward prospects and 1 defensive prospect. That is more than enough to land a quality player with term. Of course, there will be salary cap and expansion draft considerations to be made.
Someone mentioned earlier about some older vets on big contracts. This would be a way to go, too. Wouldn't cost as much and in 3-4 years it probably won't matter. |

I'll take Jonas Brodin from them instead, no sweat. Think he'd be a real solid addition...but JJ would have to be scratched when Dumo came back ...not happening |

Rutherford doesn't usually say one thing and do another. He's been pretty transparent that he's not going after a dman. He wants a 3rd liner and I believe him. what I'm unsure of is what he believes is a 3rd line player lol |

Completely on board with that. I think a two year contract is ideal.
As far as JJ goes, JR and Sully need to ask themselves if they want to win a Cup or a Participation ribbon. I know JR has his ego tied up in JJ, but he needs to put that aside for the good of the team. There's a good chance he'll get to play as an injury replacement, anyway. But he should be 7th D. |

Because our most valuable asset is our 1st and that isn't enough. Bjugstad isn't worth much, Schultz is a UFA, and frankly Poulin and Legare are valued high by us, but are not even considered a top 50 prospect league wide. It would be tough to get them to trade Dumba for any package we can muster. |
