The metro is tough already and on paper other teams improved. What that does to chemistry will be interesting to watch. Don’t know who you’re referring to just how I read it all. I am glad we didn’t get into a bidding war as this was more of a sellers market. The team was doing well so they get a couple pieces to help with the run. They are not at the point to get that one guy to try to go over the top.

If we go into the playoffs with home ice advantage, I believe this will be the first time I’ve experienced this my entire career as a Flyers fan. I go back to 1997.

2010 Conference final against Montreal. But I get what you are saying. ENTERING the playoffs with home ice.

edit: 2002 they had home ice against Ottawa in the first round. 2001 home ice against Buffalo. Same in 2000 against Buffao (#1 seed.....

Yep, I asked myself the other day when was the last time the Flyers exceeded my expectations in the regular season. I couldn’t remember because it never happened. Right now, this is it—the best season of my hockey fan career. #livinginthemoment

Is this relevant from a personal standpoint, you want to go to home playoff games to start a series or you just want the advantage for the team on home ice to start a series.....or both? How many home playoff games have you been to? Just wondering

Yeah. Really didn’t think they were referring to me, but on here who knows. I made a comment about Pitt blowing their load to early this year and the flyers getting hot at the right time. And also thought other teams I. The metro beefed up on paper anyway. Thanks though.

Well, I was just comparing the current projected finishing spot to what, in all optimism, I believed before the season started. Having home ice even in the first round is huge for this team.

The team has obviously had home ice many times before.

I'd argue that he has hurt them with his penalties, but he hasn't cost them a game yet. But that's why I said they could move Grant to 4C, as Farabee is not in competition with Thompson.

If they want to get Farabee back up to speed in the AHL and want to get the "grizzled vet" Thompson in some games, fine. I just don't think Thompson should be immune from being scratched simply because the team has been winning if his play merits it.

What penalties? Three games, first two zero penalties. Yes, the third game had 2. But, at 4-0 with the refs looking to make the game interesting wacked Thompson with a high stick penalty. I’d like to see it again, but at the time I thought it was marginal at best. The flyers were scored one, got it back shortly after. The second one - again game well in hand up by 3 with less than 10min - Thompson got a trip. At the time Zibanejad was doing everything he could to draw penalties late in the game.

Yes, I forgot that he didn't actually commit the penalties in a huge 4-point game for the Flyers. One was a dive and the other was a phantom. Thank you for clarifying that Thompson didn't actually commit a penalty on either sequence. Always #RefsOutToGetUs

Yeah, good but not great for me. It was so respectable after the severe disappointment that was 06-07 though.

Correct it's not. Which actually makes his tirade and a few others who joined in as well in ridiculing the team for not going out and getting a bigger name all that more moronic.

As if somehow all those teams in the Metro & Atlantic division going and getting "splashier" names secured their playoff spots and guaranteeing the Flyers miss it.

Milbury saying Voracek is the most important Flyer may the most clueless thing ever said on television. I don't know Jake is in the top 5. Couturier, Hart, Provorov, Giroux clearly more important. The fact Milbury has a media job after being one of the most incompetent GM's in the sport is mind boggling. Not to mention the transgressions he's had. How does JR get fired for making harmless comments, and Milbury has a job after he physically put his hands on a young kid a few years ago?
