2010 Conference final against Montreal. But I get what you are saying. ENTERING the playoffs with home ice.

edit: 2002 they had home ice against Ottawa in the first round. 2001 home ice against Buffalo. Same in 2000 against Buffao (#1 seed.....

- MBFlyerfan

Didn’t they have home ice vs Buffalo in 2011?

Yes. I also thought they had home ice against the devils in the 2012 2nd round

Thank god we have a team that looks dangerous again. Two good teams (09-10, 19-20) bookending the worst decade of Flyers hockey imo.

I'd always marveled at previous iterations of this team which found impressive and improbable ways to secure multiple defeats out of the wasted maw of victory. This season, however, I've really enjoyed seeing them win in different and altogether unique ways. High-scoring, low-scoring, games with pace and hustle, games in deadlocked defensive maneuverings, goaltending duels, special-teams dominance, et al. Wherever they end up, they've been fun to watch again.

Let's go, Flyers!

Which player from Florida said the flyers are the team he was .last worried about? Was it huberdeau?
I laughed when he said that after last season. That was a good call though

The last 2 seasons, Washington has won the Metro with 105 and 104 points. This year, Washington is on pace for 108. To beat that (109), the Flyers would need 26 points out of a possible 34, for a points percentage of 77%.

They should be able to beat Buffalo (2x), Detroit, NJ, and Minnesota. If they can win them (10 points), they would need 16 points against:

@ Washington
Carolina
Boston
Tampa Bay
Edmonton
St. Louis
@ Dallas
@ Nashville
NYI
Pittsburgh
Nashville

Assuming 109 is the key number, how optimistic are you?

- jmatchett383

You come up with some gems, man! This is nice!
That's a tough schedule but with this team anything is possible right now. If the caps hit a mini slump then the sky is the limit and this team is in control of their own destiny
What do you think the flyers end with? (I will be at that Nashville game, btw)

When do the newly acquired players get acclimated then. Understand the argument but we traded for more veteran players that can be plugged in while still developing your youth.

Grant took Joel’s position. Nate bunny. While bunny hasn’t been bad I think they view it as Nate is better on face offs and pk ability.

- Peter Richards

This is s good observation and viewpoint. But as an arm chair GM I go with the motto if it ain't broke dont fix it and that 4rh line was even putting pucks in the net.
I get why nasty Nate is in right now, to acclimate, and I think that says alot about the confidence that AV has for this team. They're still in the very thick of things and still winning while adding new pieces that arent really upgrades. AV trusts these guys

So basically he's just got a poopty memory
- DraftandDestroy

At no point have you pointed out any of the home times that we had home ice heading into the first round the past 23 years. Sounds like I’m not alone on the poopty memory.

By the way, if you knew anything about me, you wouldn’t be making a fool of yourself and asking if I’ll be going to any home games.

Correct it's not. Which actually makes his tirade and a few others who joined in as well in ridiculing the team for not going out and getting a bigger name all that more moronic.

As if somehow all those teams in the Metro & Atlantic division going and getting "splashier" names secured their playoff spots and guaranteeing the Flyers miss it.

- Yosimar89

It’s called past experience. Most importantly the recent past, starting with the first half of this season dating back to the last number of seasons this decade. Nobody here has made a fool of themselves by having doubts.

Yep, I asked myself the other day when was the last time the Flyers exceeded my expectations in the regular season. I couldn’t remember because it never happened. Right now, this is it—the best season of my hockey fan career. #livinginthemoment

I was just telling my fiancee this yetserday! This is the first time I have ever been excited about this team, since 2010 anyway but this team is much different. They are winning and having fun and they all look hungry.
I have not been alive for the flyers to win a Stanley cup... I admit I will cry like a baby if they win 🤷🏽‍♂️

It’s crazy people are starting to utter the C-word. I love it, this fan base needs a kick in the ass of HOPE! For half a decade it just felt like the team was spinning wheels. It’s lead to an apathetic fan base and a tomb like atmosphere in the WFC.

Let’s all get EXCITED!!!
