I was in Manhattan all weekend the socialites on the online dating sites are much hotter than the chick's here in Western New York. And even the 50somethings always have a bikini shot in their profiles.

Does this mean Johnathan Cheechoo is a proven 50 goal scorer?
- Sabres1523

Did he ever score 50?

Then the answer is yes. I can prove that he has scored 50 goals, and so can he.

Never said I didn't like him, never. People over value players that are on good teams and think they will do the same here.
- SABRES 89

I agree with you

I see alot of overvaluing players that are on good lines too.

Anderson didnt have a John jack, he had jack sh!t at center.

If he scored 50 goals, that would make him a player that would make him a proven 50 goal scorer.

This is actually really simple.

In Anderson's case he only played 62 games the year before , so he was on a pace just short of 27 goals the year before.

Which didn't make him a proven 27 goal player. When he scored 27 he proved it.

it's not that the team 'needs' to tank, it's just that there is literally no value to winning these games, possibly some harm, while there is some small measurable benefit to losing them.

Put it this way. The pain has already been suffered this season. It was mostly dished out in Nov to January, with the last little bit coming in those past three games. Now they are out of it with a meager 17 games left. Without even having to tank, just not play really well, this team can finish 6th worst. Then there is a chance to high roll a top three pick (23ish %) but failing that you still get a top ten pick, which is another top six forward for this franchise. It's a painless way to get better.

Dylan Cozens has become the biggest hope of this franchise in a matter of months. If we can get another one of those, there is at least some reason to be positive.

I can't understand the people short sighted enough to claim they never route for the team to lose. It's like playing chess and refusing to lose a pawn if it will get you a queen a few moves later. It's just so obvious.

For me at least, at this point, its that i have sacrificed so many pawns and gotten so many queens and i still can't win the game that i'm not having fun playing chess when i sacrifice pawns anymore so i'd rather just play it without sacrificing.

basically the losing has gotten me so disinterested that what do i even care about another hot prospect

i'd rather win a bit now and be totally turned off of hockey for even more of the forseeable future

Decent line, definitely a good team, coach and environment.

I think he has the potential to bring a Tom wilson (lite) dimension to the Sabres. With eichel and pp net front presence.

I could be completely wrong, and he may not fit with eichel.

I totally get that reasoning. It's getting hard to justify watching games.

I honestly think the over-optimism here is what kills some people. Every year fans buy that we are going to be good, and that the GM knows what he is doing. It's soul crushing to get disappointed like that.

Basically, this whole season was a wasted season for me around August, because they brought back the exact same team as the year before. In that sense I'm just starting to get excited about the Sabres now, because this wasted season is almost over and the time when I can actually get better is coming.

I knew they would suck, so suck a bit more and get me a star in the draft.

A proven 50 goal scorer is someone that has done it multiple times.

Same for anyone that has scored 20, 30, or 40. If you only do it once you have the potential to do it again. Prove you can do it again and again. That’s what makes you a proven anything.

Skinner is a proven 30 goal scorer as he’s done it 4 times with a 40 goal season in there.

risto was not being shopped

florida wanted to shed salary, not take on more

- homiedclown

Perhaps he was being shopped and that's why Botts felt our offer was better. Florida not wanting to take on salary, not wanting to trade within the division and wanted someone who could somewhat fill Trocheck's spot could all be part of why Florida didn't trade with us.

If cozens is a solid 2c at 20 years old - let the fun begin

I could see Stahl or bonino in the mix. Kadri for some reason too.

I personally don't trust him, and if the Pegulas have any doubt in Jbotts abilities or lack of, they should fire his A$$ before the draft & FA.

I would not give Jbotts a fist full of money

- hehateme

To me it seems like it should be the opposite of this. Everyone complaining about the Pegula's not knowing anything about hockey and all. If they have doubts in JBotts abilities, then they should keep him. If they have complete faith in him, then they should fire him. Right?

Thank you for clearing this up.

Anderson with bonne jenner/ foligno at center =27 goals

Rw#1 on the Sabres with eichel at center = 25 goals career high.

That's interesting. 👏
