Not to mention they have to have some stability. What coach or GM of quality will want to come to Buffalo when they are waiting for when they will will be fired. - GilPerreault11
I bet there's a few big name guys that think they could win with eichel and dahlin. Not worried about losing or ultimately being fired? Getting paid well... |

Of quality, it wasn't easy finding a GM in the JB search. |

I agree with most of this post.
What if we really bomb out again?
Bottom 5
What if botts isnt providing krueger with his "type" of players.
A new gm could have past experience with krueger? - Boss34
I think it’s Kruegs goes upstairs with intimate knowledge of the players and a new coach comes in. Maybe Botts stays on in a relegated role. If I were to guess, I’d say Renney comes in to coach the team. If you recall, this is the reason why I applauded the Kruegs hiring. |

I agree, but I think the Sabres are in way better position.
Eichel and dahlin
Flexible roster with free agents
No moulson/bogo and okposos contract is more moveable
Skinner could be a positive and/or negative |

empty isn't a bad thing. The fewer bad value contracts you have the more flexibility you have to make the right moves. - Michael Ghofrani
Having flexibility to, and actually making said right moves, are two totally different things. |

PFT article mentioning a report that Conklin heading to the Jets when free agency opens up. It’s Florio and not one of his minions too. FML. Sorry Bills fans. There’s been a breach in the 3ER security. |

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports impending free agent RT Jack Conklin is not expected to sign with the Jets.
This refutes Mike Florio's earlier report that Conklin was expected to land with New York. The Jets are obviously desperate for help in their trenches since both Kelvin Beachum and Brandon Shell are likely to walk in free agency, but Conklin's spurning moves the organization back to square one. The Browns have also been linked to the 25-year-old this offseason. |

Botts won’t be fired. They’ll give him 2020/2021. Simple reason is a new GM would want a new coach and they’re not firing Ralph after one season. Ralph deserves the chance to see what he can do with a real roster. The garbage he was handed- no 2c, worst goalie combo in the league, bogo on team doomed him to failure - turbo044
Ralph is far from blameless IMO. Exhibit A is the fact that he continued to play Bogosian when it was blatantly obvious he was a pilon, and he even played him after he asked for a trade. It's like refused to understand Bogosian stunk. |

Playing bogo as per management's request
Trying to showcase him for a trade |

That could have been a collaborative decision between JB and Ralph to try to build up Bogo's value so they could dump him. |

This franchise should stop hiring inexperienced people to manage and coach. Sooner or later Eichel will wake up and realize his career is going down the dumper with this club.
They paid Skinner way too much. They’re going to need to pay Dahlin soon. The league is all about drafting and developing. Sabres come up short - BernardShakey
I said that a loooong time ago when ted sat her coached the team. I think Ted Nolan got a raw deal after winning the jack adams. After that all our hires for coach and gym have been on the job training instead of getting a ken Hitchcock when they could’ve. However let’s talk coaching talent we had and let walk John Tortorella. He’s done a great job everywhere he goes. So when bottrill and the soccer coach get their walking papers I wouldn’t be surprised if we saw a peewee coach or two behind the bench.

Team is horrible, true.
Glad we got Skinner locked up. He's a good player having an off year (been scoring lately though). He'll be fine - i'm not concerned. |

It's pretty bad when fans of other teams, from other blogs, start telling us how bad our team is.
Ya'll ain't even trolling, either. |

Come on people... we still have a team being run by a woman who has no business being near the building, A GM who hasn't proved he can do anything but maintain the status quo and a soccer coach behind the bench who had a whopping 48 games experience as an NHL coach when he was hired by the Sabres...... THE LOSING CULTURE STILL EXISTS IN BUFFALO.... |

Exactly what has this soccer coach ever accomplished that makes all of you people think he would be a good GM? Are you people nuts or what? |

b. https://theathletic.com/9...rch_query=ralph%20krueger - TheSabresTaco
Nice article but answer the question... What has he ever accomplished IN THE NHL to earn being a GM in charge of saving a team that is deep deep deep in the hole with no light at the end of the tunnel?
