With UPL coming up in a couple more years, Cozens looking to be the real deal, Pilut, Joker, Dahlin...

We need players right now, as far as the make-up and success of this team is concerned. We can't wait on draft picks to develop anymore, Olofsson took SIX GOD DAMN YEARS to develop and Mittelstadt, Thompson look to be either busts or going down similar paths.

If we finish anywhere past 10th next year, and don't at least finish only a few points out of the playoffs, you have to consider trading him if he wants out.

We can't wait on players to develop through the draft anymore. We need to make a couple of big trades or FA signings.

Trading Eichel away has to be the most moronic thing I have read on this board.

The funny thing is, Beane and McDermott have made some serious mistakes. Could have had Mahomes or Watson. Traded a fortune to go up and get Allen when they could have had Jackson for way less instead. Got peanuts for Watkins and Darius. The many gifted starts to Peterman.

They aren't some dream team of NFL guru's. But they have an organizational plan, a "this is how we want to play and win games" sort of thing, they aren't afraid to make trades and get their guys, and they are decent at evaluating talent, both their own and in general.

The sabres don' t need a genius Czar of Hockey to save them. You just need a guy who understands talent, makes more good moves than bad, and doesn't build his hopes on bad or unproven players having magical breakout seasons. That's it, there is no 10 years of drafting and restocking the minors, none of the bullpoop botts defenders make up. Just fire him and hire someone who will make like two smart fair trades over the summer, and maybe convince one B tier free agent to come here, and then make one or two smart signings of nobodies who actually end up being a nice piece. Boom. Playoffs.

Beane couldn’t Have drafted Watson or Mahones. He was Carolinas asst GM and had cam newton. 31 other teams passed on Jackson too, who has poop the bed in both playoff games so far

Duffer is the definition of a never sammer:

Starts the show with b.s. stat of 10 shots in the last 8 games for samson. Gotta be a #hoax

F this guy, sam has the 2nd highest shooting % on the Sabres.

The Buffalo Sabres won't dress Michael Frolik on Tuesday night against the Winnipeg Jets.
Frolik has appeared in 18 games since the trade to Buffalo, netting a goal and four points in 18 games with the club. Colin Miller will also be scratched.

Damn it why isn't this trash can in the lineup

Then don''t read them.

You must be a liberal. You seem to hate freedom of speech.

- toddkac

Oh my god moron, keep sounding like an ass and making it political.

I like freedom of speech. I don't like stupidity and ignorance.

FWIW, I'm one of the few true "Moderates" in the country, probably.

100% on bolded. Draft picks won't do anything to help salvage the current timeline. A full rebuild is scrapping the current timeline and no matter how you slice it, by the time you are built back to being a legit contender*, you're seeing a version of Eichel that's no longer the best version of him and it would be awfully difficult to properly tank with him in the lineup.

*=legit cup contender, not some pretend parity nonsense.

- Michael Ghofrani

We have to be realistic. This old core hasn't gotten it done and isn't getting it done. Can't keep blaming coaching and roster make-up. These are professional hockey players who made it into the NHL.

You have to consider the best thing for the franchise going forward.

Are you saying you think Ristolainen by himself gets RNH from the Oilers? Is that satire?
- kingcong39

I think it's a pretty even trade but I don't like RNH at all as a player.

If Botterill screws up this offseason with all the cap space we have , he may set this franchise back another 5 years or more.

He's gonna get a 3C and a Frolik replacement, plus sign back all the UFAs he can. Exciting times ahead. Get ready for all the Tage and Mittelstadt hype you can handle

I think we are starting to overreact here. Jack is only 23, not 28.
