My god, you need to pick up a book on reading comprehension... Although that might be redundant.

Never mind.

I've heard stories about Crosby too, and they don't seem to have much trouble. He's got 3 rings.
- Wetbandit1

Crosby was a POS the first 2-3 years and with vet players look what he is now.

Anyone who watches the Buffalo Sabres, specifically this game, and still insists we're only a few pieces away, is either extremely naive, or a compulsive liar.

Michael Jordan is quite possibly the greatest athlete of all-time are you actually serious right now? MICHAEL JORDAN? Did you just compare Jack Eichel to Michael Jordan?

It's literally Michael Jordan, Tiger Woods, Michael Phelps and everyone else.

Jack Eichel won't even be considered a top-100 all-time hockey player when his career is over.

- BeadyEyedDouche

So it's ok to be a grade A bumhole as long as you're one of the greatest of all time? Makes sense.

It's obvious to many that Jack Eichel is a selfish hockey player. He takes too long of shifts, doesn't backcheck properly, and the other players resent his special treatment. He either needs to grow up, or we keep losing.
- LarryDingee

Eichel reminds me of the one kid in the group project that does all the work and the other kids slap their names on it to get the grade.

The real problem’s with this team are the fact that the guys everyone blows their wads over (Reinhart and Skinner) need to be the 4th and 5th best forwards on this team before we go anywhere.

We also need a goaltender that can split starts with Ullmark that isn’t an ECHL quality netminder like Hutton.

They really should give Risto a look up front, he's got a good nose for the puck down low.

Eichel doesn't say hello to staffers and you idiots are ready to run him out of town?

That's more (frank)ing laughable than ANYTHING Botterill has done in 3 years here.

- Powerslave

Hasek wasn’t the nicest guy, Kelly was the biggest d bag. Do I have to mention OJ Simpson. Who the f cares. Eichel does a lot of charity work - nice enough for me

I think he can slot in as a 3rw. Play up or down with injury. Or draw in and out of the lineup with cozens. He’s clearly some of the sandpaper we need...

Thanks McCabe! Keep him on the 1pk Ralph! He. Looks. GREAT!!!

- Gr8daygo

What are you seeing so far that indicates Simmonds can play up in the lineup? He's barely adequate on the 3rd line as it is, and he is not worth $9M over the next 3 years.

I agree that they need more players that aren't afraid to get their noses dirty, but they need those players to actually have skill too.

For what it's worth, he is a part of this team and he is therefor, a part of the problem. He doesn't get a Community Chest card that says GET OUT OF JAIL FREE just for being a top-10 scorer.

But with the cap room and pending openings in the line up, a skilled gm could make a serious dent this offseason. The question is, does botts have that skill?

Interesting posts tonight. Been reading along for an hour or so.... My dumb opinion? Are the Sabres a good hockey team? NOT...... Can 4 or 5 of the right players drastically change this team for the better? Sure..... But consider this... This team needs a hard a$$ed driving coach. A coach who, after a crap game, pulls a Herb Brooks on them..... No sticks or pucks the next practice and sprints until they can barely drag their sorry a$$es into the dressing room. No mercy, no being the players friend... A coach who is just that... Their coach and the BOSS....
