Sure do we want Skinner to pot 40 every year, yes but the team has really failed Skinner. You pay a guy 9 mil a year and then you promptly take him off the first line where he had ALL of his success last year and surround him with borderline NHL'ers ad expect him to produce at a 40 goals pace again.

Skinner will get you 25-35 if you get him a capable center/line mates, stick him back with Jack, 30-40 goals.

Buffalo needs an entire new 2nd line and a Goalie. Hutton sucks and i don't think Ullmark or Johnsson are the long term answers. A new second line allows the players to slot down and create a good 3rd line and the LOG line is fine as the 4th, or cut G and make it the LOL line next season

you can bash any player you want, I just take Salary out of it. Skinner is who he is. He is not a drive play by himself player, can he, sure inconsistently. He makes 9 Mil a year because he had great success playing with an elite center last year during a contract year. I can't blame him for having the production he did last year. I wish he was having the same production this year, but we can't compare years.

Whether it's Botterill's fault or Skinner's fault, the fact is that the Buffalo Sabres have a winger that signed a $9 million a year contract and has only scored 14 goals this season through 65 games. That's unacceptable, and a large reason why this team is going to miss the playoffs for the 9th straight season.

It's a "both/and" scenario. He's producing far under his salary, regardless of who he is playing with. For $9 million, to not be near 25 goal at least is unacceptable, even if he's literally playing people that have never skated before.
