Isnt this what you complained about?

Sabres resigned everyone
Sabres tries to give casey, tage, joker, olo and pilut an opportunity
Then traded erod and sheary (4th liners)

Can't have it both ways

It's pretty simple: dont count on Mittelstadt or Cozens to be 2C.

Just don't do it. We keep doing it and it hasn't worked. Stop doing that. Fill the important positions with good, established hockey players and let the kids slide in behind them

2020-21 cap will fall between $84-$88.2 million next season.

Name a few that do both (play physical and defense) who are locked in at 5 million. A player that does not cost assets and wants to play in buffalo.

I'll be waiting ....

- Boss34

This is ridiculous.

The "wants to play for Buffalo" is a trash variable.

I won't do the work. Take a look around the league and I bet you can find 20 better and cheaper non ELC dmen.

HeY, sam reinhart, you have led the hockey team to 7th worst record in the nhl. And (not just this year, but the previous 6 seasons before krueger) we're going to give you a raise a double your contract.

I long for the day this fanbase demands greatness from its players
, and not just hopes for it.

This is like those madlib magazines, just fill in the names

- Boss34

Fake News.
Just like nobody wanted to pay Skinner $9m for his 40 goal season and realized that contract was a $1M +/- overpayment; NOBODY wants to pay Sam $7M for his 60-65 pt season.
Some, like me, believe a number of factors will conspire such that Sam does get $7m or more based on 6+ seasons and staying around 65 pts.
Does that mean I want to, hell no..I hope they can sign him for $6m or less.
Ain't going to happen.
I'm fine trading him, just first get 2 RWs that can play to close the holes trading Sam will create. If not, I don't understand the rational for trading your 2nd leading scorer.

But you go on with your narrative.

This article calls his legacy questionable:

https://stmarysmusings.sb...thampton-chairman-feature

His main job was to make Southampton a franchise worth buying, not a championship caliber one.

dude spent hundreds of millions to get publicly humiliated and have all his old dirty laundry re-aired

what a weird kink

He's endorsing Biden, too, as did Klobuchar. Sounds like there's another "anyone but Bernie" movement on the left.

😀

Players get evaluated on the scoresheet.

Players also get evaluated on speed, leadership, effort, size, compete level, making teammates better and winning.

It's an easy way out just comparing goals, assists and points. They are right on the paper in front of us.

Intangibles are what make champions. Seeing something that isn't on a paper in front of you.

Reminds me of my buddy brandentonscout100.
Hard to see everything relevant to a player on tv

This is a good post, well except for the dig at the end.
Move up to the 200's so you can actually see the entire game, not be wowed at how fast the action is...then watch the rep,ys on the jumbo screen, lol.

Total sandbagging of the far left because they'll have no chance to survive. It's a smart play, and it's just as sad that they have to torch him.

Man this sounds familiar

"Krueger was infamous for his incoherent interviews, and was at his least intelligible when asked to explain what his role entailed. He would often talk in vague terms about providing ‘accountability’- a managerial buzzword that is becoming increasingly prevalent in every sphere of life. Yet he outlasted three managers appointed on his watch as Saints drifted to the brink of relegation."

"In the summer of 2016, I was pleasantly surprised to hear Krueger say some things that I considered to be very sensible.

Apparently when things went wrong, Krueger was less keen on being held accountable.

After two summers of upheaval, he announced, Saints would be less active in the transfer market and would instead look to renew contracts of key players in order to “build synergies”."

Yes and no. The election is a matter of strategy, and Bernie Sanders did absolutely nothing to try to attract moderate voters, either in 2016 or in 2020. That's on him.

Sounds like he's got by on a lot of words that make a lot of people feel good about themselves inside, but very little actual results, at least when it comes to on ice/on field success.

I like Reinhart a lot more today then I did 2 years ago, but I have to laugh at the people (Sabres twitter mostly) who think he's getting some mega contract.

People suggesting 8+ mil a year are crazy....

I'd go 6.5-7 max.

Also yes and no. He has a passionate fan base, and that fan base is incredibly small up against the moderates..

My knowledge of politics is happily shallow, so I'll leave it at that. They know he won't succeed, at least his chances are lesser.

I haven't seen estimates over 7. Unless you're talking about the randos

So when you spend to the cap this year, how much room do you have to sign another huge contract?

Can't wait to scrub in a bunch of nobodies again for half the roster.

- TheSabresTaco

Take out about
-$900k for Past Buyout owed
-$3.0m for 2019-2020 ELC Bonuse rollovers
-$3.0m for 2020-2021 ELC Bonuses
-$2.0m held as buffer for call-ups for promo, illness etc.

So about $9m could be held back from roughly $35m Cap Space.

It goes quickly.

I have yet to see a valid argument that proves Krueger's coaching ability.

I was skeptical when his name first surfaced as a candidate but I got talked into giving it a try for being "outside the box". I really don't see any outside the box thinking from him.

You can roll over bonuses year after year. That extra $3 million buffer isn't totally necessary. It's a luxury if you can make it work, but not absolutely vital.

at 86.5MM i was having a hard time putting a roster together.

I signed

Reinhart - 7 X 7
VO - 3.95 X 2
Vesey - 2.5 X 3
Lazar - 1.45 X 2
Simmonds - 1.75 X 1
Kahun - 2.75 X 3
Larsson - 2.5 X 3
Montour - 5.25 X 5
Ullmark - 2.25 X 2

Only 7 Mil Left.

the Sabres have very little actual cap space.
