Not saying it would happen, but bringing it up because Bergevin said he was open to sending out an offer sheet again.
At what price would you let Reinhart walk?
$6,341,153 - $8,454,871 = A 1st, 2nd and 3rd
$8,454,872 - $10,568,589 = 2 1sts, 2nd and a 3rd
To me, anything over $7m is too much, however the return at $7m-$8.45m is not exactly overwhelming.
Would you match and overpay him in the lower bracket to avoid losing him to a division rival, or would you feel comfortable facing him against the Habs?
I'm not a Reinhart hater, but do wish he would show more on the ice consistantly. I think that I would let him walk though and take the picks. The cap space and extra picks could help in other areas of need and also provide extra assets that they could use in the expansion draft if needed to protect a player they may not be able to otherwise protect. - adambuffalo
After beating up on the Bruins, Vancouver made a big deadline splash trading for Toffoli. Since the trade they are 1-4 and are fighting for a wildcard spot.
Before the trade, they were 2 points behind Vegas for 1st place in the division. Since then they are now 8 pts behind them, have been passed by 2 teams and allowed Arizona to tie them.
Not every trade works out.
Edit: they also traded for a goalie that was on waivers a few days earlier.

FWIW Toffoli does have 7pts in 7 games for them since the trade.

They also lost Brock Boesser and Michael Ferland to LTIR.
Also Toffoli is playing for them, and well.
There is a large difference between a team playing poorly and a players being healtyh scratches
