I think for all of us we lose sight of what this season was all about since they won 9 out of 10 and entered the playoff picture. I thought they played there best all around game last night against a team that looks very much like a team that’s going to win back to back Stanley cups since Detroit did it. No shame in losing last night just frustrating with how they lost. We are still very much in this thing considering how poorly the teams around us are playing. In saying that boys ya gotta enjoy the ride. They are playing meaningful games which is all we can for considering where we were a couple months ago.

Jesus, guys. The youngest team in the league, coming out of a rebuild just hung with the Champs and lost on a poopty bounce. There is much to be excited and positive about with this team right now.
Remember how there were no expectations for this team and any success they had was just gravy???

...oh, and we should have been on the PP about 18 times more than we were. That also would have changed the outcome. Zero consistency from night to night with these dumb refs.

I mean come on that's sports, when people post during games it's heat of the moment. People are allowed to be emotional. I will never judge someone for heat of the moment reactions. We have our own game time posting family

I can't blame anyone if they are concerned about Kakko's inability to finish, it certainly worries me.

I agree, point I was trying to make in my blog. The team is ahead of what we expected and the playoffs race is gravy. But that doesn’t make dealing any loss easier because we are invested heart and head with this squad. When a loss occurs or is occurring, you aren’t thinking they are in a place where we didn’t think they would be. It’s goddamn, this loss stinks.

They stole my confidence for the rest of the season last night. Unless Shesty and Kreider come flying back riding that white horse to save the day, I just don't see it. Hope I am wrong

Yep by keeping Kreider and the run they were on, the expectations changed a bit for this season. Why I am not about moral victories. If they are going to play meaningful games, then we should be allowed to be angry when they lose that meaningful game IMO

It's only a matter of time for Kakko. He's already a noticeable force in the corners on the puck and at times looks like a young Jagr the way he uses his body. I think he needs some strengthening work much like Crosby had to do early on. He's close though.

Overall, it was one of those games you felt they deserved to win but just came up short. Not having Kreider is hurting in front of the net and teams are watching Z and Bread closely. It's good to see Strome stepping up when he's not taking penalties.

I felt bad for Strome and I'm glad DQ didn't bench him for that. Yes, he put his stick where it shouldn't be, but come on... those idiot refs call him for that tap and then proceed to let guys rape each other without a whistle???
Definitely missing Kreider. They put Lemeiux in front of the net, but I don't think it's hard to see that he has been our worst forward for weeks now.

Try Gauthier on the top line ,and get Fast off of Panarin's line . Try Kakko there if Panarin get him the puck for good looks no one can . Gauthier is the only one with CK20 speed . No net front present since CK20 went down ,no one in the front of the net on the PP .Fast makes the team better on the 4th line with Lemuiex and either McKegg or Howden @ center

Maybe it's because I was a goalie for 17 years, but I have a hard time hearing blaming the goalie when he plays that well.
That was a tough bounce. I thought it looked like the puck went off Lindgren's (I think) stick and came at Georgie at an angle the Blues player wouldn't have been able to manage alone and Georgie wasn't ready for that.

Maybe it's because I was a goalie for 17 years, but I have a hard time hearing blaming the goalie when he plays that well.
That was a tough bounce. I thought it looked like the puck went off Lindgren's (I think) stick and came at Georgie at an angle the Blues player wouldn't have been able to manage alone and Georgie wasn't ready for that.

I thought Georgiev was fine last night. The goal sucked but we all knew a bad bounce goal was going to be the difference.

I don't blame Quinn at all cause the team was playing well last night, but sometimes I just wish they would change the system in the 3rd and try to play for that loser point in a tied game like that

I think they did. There was still over 15 minutes left in the 3rd when you could really see the quality of chances drop off for each club. Then, that poopty goal and NY had to open it up some more.

Talk about finishers, Kakko is not one, yet. Hopefully more a confidence thing that he can overcome than a skill thing. But Strome, ugh. You put a sniper next to Panarin and he has twice as many goals. Ryan’s been a nice surprise, but I kinda wish we had sold high on him.
