Vancouver is tied with the Nashville for the last wildcard playoff spot but listed below them so I'm guessing they technically miss the playoffs. They have one more loss so that makes sense.

Arizona isn't close and would finish low enough to draft 10th (before the lottery).

I'm guessing hockey is done for the year and we will end up with two 1st round picks this year (ours and AZ) and two first round picks next year (ours and VAN). That might not be horrible I believe the Vancouver pick isn't lottery protected if it's next year; although they obviously could make the playoffs and end up with a late round pick.

Season has been over for us for a while but it was still a lot better then no hockey and an extra long off season. Worst part is I think we are just going to slow down the Corona Virus spread but it might now stick around longer.

The owners announced that they will continue to pay their hourly workers while Prudential Center is closed, for the time being at least. For all the poop we talk about them this is a pretty generous thing of them to do.

Well they have extra money left over from the million bucks they never paid the state of NJ for closing the Izod center....

No. Apollo Group (same guys, Josh Harris and David Blitzer etc.) paid/bribed/scammed the state of NJ into shutting down the Izod center because they did not like having competition for Prudential; which is why they bought the team.

In the seemingly corrupt agreement THE STATE OF NEW JERSEY needs to get approval from Apollo Group for the type of events it can host at the Izod center even after it could potential reopen. Apollo Group was supposed to pay the State something like $2M to shut down. $1M up front and one at the end of the initial term but it was previously reported they have not made that payment.

HOW THE (frank) ON GOD GREEN EARTH the State of New Jersey would need to get permission from a private business indefinitely to host events in a facility they own is totally unbelievable.

But yeah, it's a feel good story that for now they are paying the hourly workers in a facility that has generated millions upon millions of revenue for Apollo... who incidentally are the same guys who turned the NJ DEVILS into the SMALLEST payroll team in the entire NHL.

OK. I'm bored. Lets say what ever happens the Devils 2020 picks in round #1 are #5; #10; #17. WHO DO YOU PICK? Mine (assume are available):
#5 Lucas Raymond
#10 Cole Perfetti
#17 Askarov

This assumes Drysdale is gone at #5, if he was available he would be the pick. Many commenters saying based on recent Five Nations tournament Askarov is not going top ten, might fall out of top 20, I still take him if available at 17.

I highly doubt Perfetti is available at 10, he's been on the rise and challenging for the top 3 now and is more than likely gone in the top 5-6.. I'll assume nobody from the top 9 fall, so i'd take Holtz/Drysdale at 5, Sanderson at 10, and Jack Quinn at 17. But nobody knows how the draft will fall. The aim is to get 2 top of the 9 players, but that'd mean someone will need to fall if our 2nd pick remains at 10

I get its for fun but you also need to be realistic with it, Perfetti is all but guaranteed top 5. Thats like me saying i want Stutzle or Drysdale at 10. Its not happening. If any of those guys drop to 10 it'll likely be Lundell. Especially now that its quite possible no other games are played, so theres a lot less chance for players to have their stocks rise or fall now through tournaments, ect. The rankings could very well just be set now.

idk who to pick, but it absolutely has to be BPA, without any sway because of our need at defense. Gotta be BPA.

Absolutely. Even if that means we come away with 3 forwards. Just take the top player on our board with every pick.

We should take Alexis Lafreniere at #5 and Quinton Byfield at #10.

There isn't going to be a#17 pick from the Canucks until 2021.

You guys need to be realistic!

Dude, If I want a lecture I can talk with my wife. Perfetti might not be available, but he may very well be. It was meant for fun, hope you can understand that. You are entitled to your opinion of course but no need to criticize mine, Pefetti sits closer to 10 than top 5 according to most rankings (all from most recent rankings (Jan &Feb):
McKenkie #8
Pronman #9
Wheeler #7
Kimelman#10
Morreale #8
Lepage #8
McKeen's #8
Dobber Prospects #11
Fisher (March ranking) #7

If there are rankings I missed as you said that he is now top 5 please educate me, i love to find new sources.

And please, of course BPA, at all times.

Hell yeah! Man that'd be fantastic to walk out of the draft with that

But yeah we have no idea what happens with the rest of the season, or the playoffs, and we wont know about the Canucks pick for awhile. We can have it, we might not, nobody knows anything at all. The league itself doesnt even know what they're gonna do yet. The only thing we know is that we wont be seeing hockey for atleast 3-4 weeks

If the leagues do end up resuming at some point for this season, it'll be interesting to see how Bingo responds. They were rolling for the past few months, hopefully it wont halt any momentum they had

I dont even know why they brought him back up. Give that ice time and an extended look to someone who could potentially be part of the future, like a Jacobs or White

If a guy wants to buy your autographed Mike Sislo jersey for $800 would you sell it to them? Apollo did the same thing. They made the best deal they could. The blame here lies 100% on the state of NJ. Living here I can tell you, if there's a more corrupt, ass backwards, money (tax dollar) wasting state I don't want to see it. The state made a bad deal and for whatever reason can't enforce their end. It's not the first bad deal they've made (Xanadu) and it certainly won't be the last. Meanwhile, my taxes continue to rise and quality of life continues to fall. This story is so typical NJ.

I’m not defending the stupid state which has screwed up the Brendan Byrne Arena since I was a kid. It’s why hockey is now in Newark instead East Rutherford.

But to say the corrupt garbage Apollo group has done is fine because they likely were able to bribe people to do it is just completely retarded.

Clearly you are an Apollo group lackey.

So in his podcast yesterday Dreger mentioned that while its still early and a lot can happen over the next month, there's a lot of people involved in discussions with the league that think the entire season could be completely wiped out. If that happens, i wonder if we'll have another Crosby lottery, with every team in it

How does it not make sense? Perfetti is pretty much guaranteed top 5. There is zero chance he's available at 10, just like theres zero chance we get a Drysdale at 10. If im going to do a "mock draft" for fun and say what players i'd want to take with certain picks it needs to atleast be realistic.
