The thing is nobody is still really taking it seriously enough at a business level. It's all about mitigating the financial disaster. Guess what, the disaster is going to hit regardless and will only be lessened by stopping the spread of the virus.
We still have (frank)ing work camps all over the country. Safety is still taking a backseat to money in many industries. I would assume most people have a week or more of food and essentials at home ?

This is the kinda poop that makes me wanna punt a donkey - So trade away proven/current 20 goal scorer bcus there's POTENTIALLY two on the way to replace him. Who knows what could happen to Pod and Hog!! Fawking grass is greener horsepoop - Brooks_Light
Really? Jake has done it ONCE, that's not proven, plus we'll need to make space for them eventually anyways. Fawking holding on to crap because it's comfortable crap instead of moving on for better poop.

He technically hasn't even done it once. Though he likely would have by seasons end. It makes sens to trade JV. Green seems like he refuses to use him in a top 9 role, let alone top 6.
Ya chatted with him over PM as well. A lot of know-it-alls in here lol... Maybe he'll be back when the Nucks make their run to the final... - LordHumungous
I'm sure he'll find an anti-vaxer's forum where he won't feel alienated.

Sorry, he left because there are too many know it alls?

Jake has not done it once . I remember people referring to Sven and Granlund too as 20 goal potential players.
I don't see it happening in the future with a healthy top 6

Yes really - you're right technically he hasn't done it yet - but c'mon man he can get 2 goals in the remaining 13 games. Really semantics are only partially the point - mainly it's the trajectory. He's improved year to year and that's a fact. Teams take those facts/development/projections and move forward with them, not away.
And I agree - We absolutely need cap space but moving on from 23yr old with 3-4 more years of cost control is fawking stupid. You try to move on from REAL sh%t contracts like Beagle, Sutter, Sven, Loui, Ferland, Roussel, Benn.

I'd be blown away if they move on from Jake. - Brooks_Light
Where do you slot him in then? He's never getting a sniff of top 6 no matter how much you might want him to and again, there's a real chance Hog and possibly Pod (although less likely) makes the team next season. They'll need ice time too and you aren't going to be able to get rid of all the players you mention because if it were that easy they'd be gone already. Note that Benning tried to deal Sven and Loui and then even waived them to no avail. I don't think Ferland, Roussel, Benn, Sutter and Beagle will be any easier to move. At least we've got players that could replace him in the lineup that /in theory/ have more upside and are more likely to succeed whereas I think Jake has gone as far as he can in Vancouver. I've never liked the idea of trying to draft/develop players from BC in Vancouver, unless they develop into a superstar, there's far too much pressure and expectations put on them to really do well.

I bet you couldn't get 5 people on here to agree when it was over or if it even started .Every time I asked you guys always came up with different answers
Hell no I have him penciled in top line 30 goals next year - VANTEL
I think a full season with EP/JTM would net Jake 25 or so goals and probably 30 or so assists. But could Toffoli do better with them? WOuld Green even give him a season with them?

Jake has never been anyone's first choice to play on JTM Petey's line. You could make that same prediction with most players.
I suggest you draw your line , look at the roster and see where he is going to fir in with. I seriously don't see him displacing Brock or Toffoli

I’m not Slotting him anywhere cus I’m not the fawking coach am I? He did get a sniff (actually a couple snorts) this year so why not again? He’s consistently top 9 and can jump up top 6 when injuries happen.
It’s amazing how Pod and Hog have already made the team, are slotted in and bypassed earning it or Greens doghouse.
I didn’t say get rid of all those guys or that it would be easy - I said those are the contracts I’d be trying to move. JB said he got work to do in the offseason so something gotta give.
The whole point is you’re argument is “in theory” and mine is based on what Jake is actually doing. The best thing that’s happened for Jake is JT Miller - a perfect example of how you shouldn’t bet on players stopping development at 23 and I don’t think he’s reached his limit at all nor do I think you can bet on “possibles or what ifs” players replacing him.

I’m just busting your balls in true Lefty fashion, that said, I personally feel like the team has just stepped into the next phase.
