Which one comes to camp in shape?
Which one sticks up for teammates?
Which one can generate offense, instead of only relying on line mates? |

The fact that Virtanen can skate circles around Leivo while providing similar offensive numbers should be enough to persuade anyone to prefer Jake. His skill-set is far higher and he’s four years younger. |

And yet Green always went to Leivo as the first choice.
Hopefully they change coaches by the start of the season. |

I’ve got nothing against Leivo, he served a much needed purpose, he allowed Virtanen time to mature and find his NHL game, however, he’s there now, there’s no need for Leivo. If the organization chooses Leivo over Virtanen there’s no hope for this franchise until current coaches and management are gone. |

Pathetic? Not really.
It is one persons made up fantasy dream team, not something that the team has determined "this is it our best all round dream team lineup".
As for country club, Hansen wasn't a country club inductee, as you stated above he worked hard every shift, je ne sais quoi, you need to be passive, would rather head to the bench and not care about teammates getting mauled.
Personally I wouldn't have Hansen on my dream team, there are probably several players we wouldn't agree on, it is not a reflection country club perception. It's one persons picks, go ahead and make your own dream team list and share it here, lets see how country clubbish it is. - Makita
IMac is the designated sports journalist for this club. He has access to this franchise like no other. IMO, he’s their mouthpiece. Basically an extension of their marketing team. He’s not just another fan.
I’m not dumping on IMac himself, I think it shows that when creating a dream team this franchise’s depth is pretty slim.
Let me do some sleuthing and I’ll come up with my own take on a Canuck dream team.

I really like Jake also. I love the Shotgun tribute and I think he is a good young player.
My issue with the team is the D . It still needs fixing. I don't think slotting in Tryamkin and Rafferty would fix it and there is very little on the UFA market . That leaves the last option of trade. Who on Canucks have trade value . Brock or Jake? |

The issue is they play so poorly as a unit defensively that they need a coach who can change the way they fundamentally play the game. |

Good luck with that. I think it is just unrealistic at this time to change. Doesn't matter what we think here on HB I don't think it will happen. |

They did a coaching change and it is not much better . Lidster was here before. I don't have an answer. |

The “D” coach isn’t responsible for what system they play, their systems are solely a product of the head coach. |

Three years ago, if they are bottom five defensively next year, like they were this year, Green is gone. |

Green got a pretty big cheer on Sedin retirement night.
I think Francesco looks the team and says we went from 23 rd to a bubble team in one year . Merchandise flying off the shelves , fans in the seats. Great young , exciting team.
I think his final comments to Jim are good job. Everyone got extended. |

That’s a interesting story. Never heard of it. The fact that the Ontario government never heard of the Cobalt Act is unbelievable.
Natural resource extraction and systemic abuse are synonymous even today. Massive change is needed but nothing will.
Frontline did a great piece last night on plastic recycling. Soul crushing to think recycling is just another con job by the oil industry to keep reduction from being the main goal. |
