Do you honestly think Ferland is going to play again?
If he ever does, I see him being a shell of his former self. |

I don't think Beagle is trade-able with his price tag and limited role. Another improve now, pay for it later move by that genius Benning. - Marwood
I don't mind Beagle one more year . I don't like Beagle and Sutter together in 2020 . Time to get rid of Sutter |

If Jake was really in their future plans, they would have resigned him midseason to a 3-4 year contract to take him to UFA and avoid having to go the arbitration route. Once he invokes his rights, Benning is screwed, he either accepts whatever the arbitrator awards him on a 1 year deal, or walks away and gets nothing for him. I'd rather package him up with something and get a decent 2-3-4 D-man with upside than keep him and potentially lose TT or worse yet, Markstrom. - DariusKnight
Jake could be re-signed but my thoughts is he will be traded. I am thinking Pod will take his spot 2021 so they will use him as trade bait. |

Jake has arbitration rights this year and that scares the hell out of me. He could be awarded north of 3 mil dollars . In his NHL career he has had about 50 noteworthy games . That is just my opinion.
I think Jake has value league wide and could help fix the D in a trade. I would like to see the shots numbers come down from 40-50 per night.
I think the Canucks have enough talent on forwards this year without Jake and will have even more next year.
Again it is just my views. - VANTEL
I’m torn on moving Jake. His speed & size is a big combo & he’s showing other growth. Any deal would be interesting indeed. Inconsistency as in he doesn’t impact games often enough is the only question mark for me. It’s a dangerous risk unless the return is huge.
Earlier posts on d prospects i somewhat agree but i’m all about pairing dynamics. With Hughes & Rathbone looking good producing adding Rafferty that takes care of scoring imo. OJ’s injuries was a step back but adding more offence I like. Woo can be a compliment partner in the top 4 if he continues on his curve. Tanev will still be around if we can resign him to a hometown deal. Utunen plays a similar style if he is gone. Edler will have retired or maybe can hang on as a 3rd pairing mentor. Tryamkin could be the last part. Others in Utica will be depth D if still around. That leaves future drafts to mine D.
Future possible pairings...
Hughes Tanev
OJ Myers/Tryamkin
Rathbone Rafferty
Utunen Woo |

How easy do you think it is to move a guy like Beagle though? Most teams are going to be looking at cap dollars . If you did move him what would the return be? - VANTEL

We're not even close to being a contender, put the pipe down. Without Markstrom's goaltending we'd be a bottom ten team.
Secondly, the only way Pod and Hog take someone's spot is if they earn it, we don't even know if they'll be NHL players at this point. Everyone was so excited with Dahlen and Goldy, how'd that turn out. You get an NHL job when you push someone out the door not when you get drafted. - LeftCoaster
Bad goaltending can make most teams bottom 10. Very few teams are excluded.
Yet i do agree with you.

If TT doesn't re-sign we lose that deal big time. - VanHockeyGuy
Largely due to Covid, can't exactly blame Benning for a Pandemic. |

Twitters hot topic now is who gets the buyout ? Loui or Myers - VANTEL
Loui 100%. Myers may be making 1m more than he should, but he improves our team. No sense dumping his contract until after he is no longer an improvement. |

No but if he wants to play I don't see them not letting him, three games and then he's out with symptoms and he gone. |

It is the right decision and I respect the mayor for being that ballsy .
