Jake has never been anyone's first choice to play on JTM Petey's line. You could make that same prediction with most players.

I suggest you draw your line , look at the roster and see where he is going to fir in with. I seriously don't see him displacing Brock or Toffoli

- VANTEL

Same, Brock and Toffoli will do better as our top 6RW. JTM and Pearson better as top 6 LW next season. Zack would easily replace what JV brings. Sell high.

I’m not Slotting him anywhere cus I’m not the fawking coach am I? He did get a sniff (actually a couple snorts) this year so why not again? He’s consistently top 9 and can jump up top 6 when injuries happen.
It’s amazing how Pod and Hog have already made the team, are slotted in and bypassed earning it or Greens doghouse.
I didn’t say get rid of all those guys or that it would be easy - I said those are the contracts I’d be trying to move. JB said he got work to do in the offseason so something gotta give.
The whole point is you’re argument is “in theory” and mine is based on what Jake is actually doing. The best thing that’s happened for Jake is JT Miller - a perfect example of how you should’ve bet on players stopping development at 23 and I don’t think he’s reached his limit at all nor do I think you can bet on “possibles or what ifs” players replacing him.

- Brooks_Light

Let's be clear, I think Jake overperformed this year, and even if not he's reached his peak. We can do better for less money and we can sell high on Jake and fill holes in the defense that even you would have to agree needs a lot of work. We aren't getting a 2/3/4 defencemen using any combo of Beagle, Sutter et. al. and you can't expect someone at 23 to get THAT much better when most forwards peak at 22/23... but w/e.

I’m just busting your balls in true Lefty fashion, that said, I personally feel like the team has just stepped into the next phase.

See you think it is not finished but a rebuilding team does not trade it's first and second.

Marwood has said in the past it begun when the Sedins retired which makes Bo Jake Brock not part of the rebuild.

They have never really had a rebuild. They did things on the fly.

I don't mind the joking

Green in the past had Leivo also ahead in the lineup.

Beagles line played more minutes than Gauds line so it doesn't matter where Jake plays , if the team is healthy he will be in the 12-15 goal range .

Leivo would probably get second PP minutes instead.

Whose line do you see him playing on?
- VANTEL

I see him being able to play up and down the lineup, much like he did all this year. Gauds is fairly good fit, seems where he ended up a lot of the time.

Ya but none pf them have potential to get better. You seriously want to move forward with Sutter in and JV out?!? Yikes! Motte is trash, if he played a minute of top6 I’d be disappointed. Leivo is good, keep him and JV for depth imo. Both can play either wing and have decent over all games. Ship out Sutter, LE and Beagle over JV all day.

No need to make up fake narratives. I have said over and over Sutter should go,

I have seen it written many times about how one player or another can play up and down the line up. Canucks have about 5 or 6 players can do that In fact Zack has played on multiple lines and he has only played 20 pro games

Some guys can do it and play well though. Motte and Sutter are not them. Lievo and JV are. Zack maybe... seems like a bit of a defensive liability in comparison if im being honest. I don’t mind that while he’s learning the pro-level game, I’d play lievo and JV ahead of him in a heartbeat. You have to plan for injury, it’s going to happen and you need decent guys to fill those spots. I thought Zack looked out of place in the top 6, lots of running around. Like the kid, but that’s my opinion

Jake is one of my favorite but if I can use him to fix the D then I am in.

I’m on record as saying when JB traded the first for Miller last summer the rebuild phase was over, they’re on the surround the youthful core and continue to build depth through the draft phase.

Just like we know Benning uses shoe polish to paint his head and eyebrows... We know Trump gets a boyzilllian. Easier to apply the orange spraypaint that way. Do you have any doubt?
