If the season is cancelled Toffoli was a steep price from sheer bad luck if not resigned. Wonder if the league is considering the TDL trades & if any compensation ideas. - Nighthawk
Benn can play the right side
Tryamkin also & inevitable to be signed
Cannot afford to qualify Stetcher
Rafferty likely a year away
Woo 2-3 years away
Draft/trade for more RHD cuz don’t see cap space for UFA’s anytime soon.
Resign Tanev 4/5.5m? - Nighthawk
I think this is the perfect year to go shopping. A lot of teams will struggle with the cap and believe it or not Canucks do have a little space.
I think Tanev wants around 6 m x 4 ( Just a guess) Canucks can give him that or for example sign
Dillon 3.5 x 3
Tryamkin 1.5 x 2
Stecher 1.5 x 2
You don't have to use those exact names . There will be teams letting go players . Jake Gardner for example last year was reported to get 7 mil when free agency opened and by the time he signed it was for 4x4
There will be more bargains than usual I feel so hopefully we do some shopping.

Plus if the cap stays where it is or goes down, could see a few guys taking a one year deal to cash in a bit more when the cap goes up next year.

When JB goes shopping, he has a tendency to buy a lot of junk food.
It will be no travel ,no high arena costs , just staff and camera crews. - VANTEL
That would be a shame if they set it all up and then the Virus started spreading through a few teams. "Shut it back down!" Isnt that what's going to happen anyways?
I agree . I would love to see them say next year is a new year. The more I hear the less likely I think that will happen.
I know Trump was pushing telling the commissioners to get it up and running so we can get back to normal but it is not the right thing to do. IMO
I know the chaos with an unfinished year for NBA and NHL will crate havoc but it does not mean it is the right answer. Safety first. - VANTEL
I’m not sure havoc is the right word. Disappointment, for players and fans? Sure, but nothing will actually happen by abandoning the season. They’ve done it over money twice in recent memory.
The narrative now is that they want to “get the revenue flowing again” right? How do neutral site games in N Dakota, to no fans get revenue flowing? I already pay my cable provider (so no new revenue), I’m not going to subscribe to NHL.com (so no new revenue), I’m not going to spend money on a jersey or a giant foam finger, obviously not going to buy a ticket to a game. I wonder how many companies would pour new money into advertising?
