After we sign Dillon and trade for a 2 RHD you are correct

Dillon would help, the trade may be difficult.

Just guessing but I think he's got something to do with the Brackett drama.

Some of the plans from the league apparently involve playing in front of no fans or a reduced crowd of 15K fans.

I wonder which would be worse, no fans, or a pathetic amount of fans? Part of the magic of the home game is the noise the opposition has to deal with at the line, the energy etc. would 15k fans just be weak? Would it be like going to a Florida Panthers game in February?

I imagine they'll pump some level of "crowd noise " through the PA system.

There aren’t any rules on how many AGMs a team can have. If they wanted to keep Bracket, and that was the sticking point, there is nothing holding them back.

I don't think Brackett will get a AGM job anytime soon.

Something to watch anyway, is the 3rd round on the 3rd day?

A final decision on whether to have the NHL draft in early June could come today but the league’s call on that still could slide into the coming days. At this point, it’s more likely than not the draft will be held in early June, but no date(s) set yet.

You realize how hypocritical you are right? Benning’s greatest contribution to the prospect pool has been his leadership. In providing the framework for the scouts, and putting people (like Bracket) in positions to succeed. Every organization gets by when they lose key people, they find others. Hopefully they have been grooming someone to take over that role when Bracket leaves.

Actually no, there is no hypocrisy at all in that post, I made an observation about Lefty's well documented hate for anything Benning, why not mention every damn scout that had a hand in identifying players, why include Brackett, because he can't acknowledge Benning period.

The guy who they hired/promoted to look after contracts is an AGM, so the Canucks currently have two. Each guy can have his own department. It’s just a title, and likely a salary increase.

Because you continually do the same thing as lefty, to disparage the work that Bracket has done. It’s exactly the same. And he does acknowledge Benning, it’s right there in his post. All those other scouts aren’t sitting at the table on draft day, that should tell you enough about who the decision makers are. Bracket wanted Rathbone, Benning wanted Gunnerson...

So change management structure for someone that may depart, or evaluate their demands and determine if their performance deserves promotion or is there someone also suited for the job.

I'm not disparaging Brackett at all, if he deserves further promotion and it fits with the management structure, promote the damn guy. If they want to keep him they will find a way.

If he doesn't deserve promotion let him walk, I couldn't give a poop.

And I have no idea who wanted whom, and unless Brackett or Benning reported this themselves and not some speculative poster or sports columnist guessing it is taken with a grain of salt.

I have no idea what their relationship is like. I’m just saying that they already have two AGMs, if the only thing holding up a contract extension was a title, it would be done already. I have no doubt that the organization can replace JB if they need to, just like I have no doubt they will be salary cap compliant when the season starts. Will they be in a better, worse or similar position? Time will tell.

Those examples were from the video of them at the draft table, not word of mouth. Jim’s quote, I believe, was “he’s going to be a player”.

Yes I’m aware of the Calder kids but I wasn’t referring to them, I was strictly speaking of the prospect pool, which they are not a part of.

I see nothing in Podkolzin, Hoglander, Lind or OJ that screams highend player. By that I mean I don’t expect them to be in the same class as Boeser, Pettersson or Hughes. That doesn’t mean they won’t be successful NHL players though.

- LeftCoaster

I see PodK in that class with Boeser(I see Hughes and Petey above Boeser 100%) and Horvat/JTM.
