Hearing she gave a thumbs-up to Vancouver being a hub for return of nhl season.
Anyone know if this is true?

Edit; nvm

She was asked about hockey in BC and gave a safe answer. But it wasn't really an answer. Like marwood said, it would be an automatic 14 day isolation for all players flying into BC and players would be forced to wear masks and stadiums would be empty. It was all hypothetical and more of a best case scenario answer but I thought it was more just to appease the reporter.

I think you're optimistic with your projection

I think saying January 2021 for things going back to pre-covid would be optimistic, I envision we are still fighting this thing until summer/fall 2021.

I get the feeling things will open up a bit this summer but they'll be on high guard come September. Some forms of social distancing will be normal for some time.

I have a feeling the players will vote against a return for this year and a week before the draft they will cancel the season

Things will open up slowly and everything will be monitored and tracked, as they should. Bonnie hendry and adrian dix said it correctly though, this summer will be a summer that will be so immensely different than we have ever experienced before

Idk if players doing that is thinking it through. Lots is at stake & the ramifications is already hurting the league. This has nothing to do with the general publics views imo. If games can be played safely in a controlled environment it’s a go. The onus is on the league to ensure that. As for players simply not liking being locked up for a long time idc. Normal ppl make sacrifices without being paid millions let alone if they cannot work at all to simply pay bills. Athletes are not the smartest or most worldly & should let those more informed sort this out. If it’s no season fine.

My post never said pre-covid but did say in a more realistic environment the ball will get rolling once again.

I doubt the beaches will be as packed.

However, international and national tourism should be down so I imagine there will be great deals locally. People will still be able to get out and do things, it's just going to be different.

Personally i'm thinking of renting a cottage in PEI for a week, if both provinces remain clear. It's weird, we feel pretty good about this thing but nobody wants to go to NS and especially not to Quebec.

Agreed.
We all would like to return to normal, but that isn't happening anytime soon. IMO.

How the heck can the game of hockey be played in a controlled environment. They would all need masks no driving to the net, no contact, no face offs, triple sized benches, etc.
Maintaining a distance in a game like hockey, impossible.

And yet Translink laid off 1500 employees and has lost 85% of it's ridership, that's not operating, that's tokenship.

How stupid are ppl?

6’ social distancing is mandated by health authorities & governments yet ppl will do errands that take 1 person. Do they need to be TOLD how to think at every turn or are they reckless or outright morons?

My choice is moron

Those who have ever ridden public transportation must know how much ignorance of ridership is out there. Busses etc are incubators at the best of times let alone the flu season that spikes in the early new year. Hygiene practice is pathetic in general. Those who can think for themselves do so those who don’t are...

I agree obviously it is ideal to go solo. But not everyone is able to shop by themselves.
Some people can't leave their kids at home and don't need your scorn added to their stress.

Ok I guess it takes the entire family to screw in a light bulb too. It is so demanding to shop for groceries with all the tough decisions to make.

Heh kids & wifey get in the car I cannot make decisions on my own even with a grocery list & cel if I need help. You cannot wait in the car. Lets all be at risk instead ok.

It’s not ideal it’s obvious.
C’mon man be real geez lol

Why does Walmart repeat constantly over the PA to shop alone?

Idk maybe ppl need to be told or those who don’t cannot understand the message.

It’s sad times when ppl need to be prompted over the simplest things.

Wifey doesn’t drive or do grocery shopping. She stays at home as the smart choice. It didn’t take any thinking nor edict. Common sense not doing needless things is well...
