Let's see what they come up with if they come back. If the playoffs are as gruelling as they always were, and one of the "extra" teams doesn't win it, then it is still pretty legit, as least as legit as the half-season a number of years ago.

I actually said “it’s kinda funny” which to me doesn’t sound at all like i think it’s a big hangup. But, since you asked, I don’t really care too much and will be ecstatic if we make it in the big tourney and somehow catch lightning and win. I do think, however, that they are going out of their way to make sure it’s as legit as possible, so i think by the time we have the final 16 team tourney it will be awesome hockey.

I favour the Caps the team to beat given their vets & cup experience. A number of other teams can catch fire. Imo it will come down to who can play 60mins of intensity nightly. A hot goalie could win any series & even the cup of course.

Took only 8 wins. Habs did win in the modern era.

I just went to get sticks for our tomato plants at Canadian Tire. Vancouver is up and running just like it was any normal day.

The most logical would be a small round robin leading into a 3 or 5 game elimination for lower seed teams. It's pretty screwy no matter how it's done.
