OK. So one and a half good players.
Tavares missed- 7 games and played a decent amount hurt with a broken hand
Rielly missed- 23 games and played literally all the rest injured
Marner missed- 11 games
Hyman missed- 19 games, 21 goals despite that
Muzzin missed- 17 games
Let me know when Columbus equals that. - GreatGigInTheSky
Anderson 44 games
Murray 43 games
Texier 34 games
Atkinson 26 games
Already more than any Leaf
Bjorkstrand 21 games
Jones 14 games
Wennberg 13 games
Those are all significant amounts of games but once again can manage to work through it not using excuses nor speak of playing injured which many players do. |

States there's a huge injury issue. Leafs didn't play even close to a healthy roster all season. - GreatGigInTheSky
Pales in comparison to CBJ. Really you have no ground to stand on. |

In fairness, none of those guys are as good as Tavares and/or Marner.
Leafs were missing Andersen as well as Muzzin, Mikheyev, Hyman, Johnsson, and Rielly plus a few others |

When the Leafs were playful well they were a far better team that CBJ. When not, they didn’t look like they deserved to be in the playoffs. Pretty hard to tell what any team looks like in first round. |

7 & 11 games are nothing to get over with the other high paid F’s. I’ll take Seth Jones over any D on the Leafs. Granted Tavares/Marner are elite but Atkinson ain’t chump change & J Anderson is a beast. I love Hyman 👍 |

In terms of points and scoring, perhaps. But in terms of importance to their team and how they play, not so much. Those players were on the team that beat Tampa Bay last year for a reason. |

This is true but also in a much weaker division. 1st round is a team is ready at the bell or it can be bye bye in a hurry. |

CBJ is very good at a team game where so many other teams are not barring a few. |

The toughest teams to match up against not in order imo are Washington St Louis Dallas CBJ Boston Colorado Philly & Pittsburg. NYI could be included maybe. |

Lets hear your playoff format. - Nighthawk
if you want safety - don't play. it seems though that people in general want to go back to do the things they like - and hockey is part of the entertainment people are looking for.
if we're talking about entertainment - let's make it as interesting as possible.
i would personally be in favor of having the top 12 teams of each conference in playoffs.
then give top 2 of each division (boston, tampa, washington, philadelphia in east), and start off (pre playoffs series) with a best of 5 series between
#5 conference vs #12
#6 conference vs #11
#7 vs #10
#8 vs #9
teams (8) that lose those series can go into draft lottery; all of those teams have same odds of winning #1 pick, but always much lower odds than the 7 bottom teams not participating in playoffs (I would be in favor of giving all those teams the same odds at #1 overall pick, maybe with the exception of detroit).
so maybe detroit 12% chance of #1 overall pick, 2-7 7% chance, and other 8 teams 5%.
then playoffs, have a 2nd lottery for the playoffs brackets:
8 seeded teams (4 per conference), separating the top 2 of each division.
so EAST
boston (#1 atlantic) vs. ?? - MaximusAurelius[lottery out of 4 winners pre-playoffs]
philadelphia (#2 metro) vs. ?? [lottery out of 4 winners pre-playoffs]
winners of these series play eachother
other side
tampa vs. ?? [lottery out of 4 winners pre-playoffs]
washington vs. ?? [lottery out of 4 winners pre-playoffs]
winners of these series play eachother
(posted that Wed)
for EAST that would be
#5 conference vs #12 PITTS vs MTL
#6 conference vs #11 CAR vs FLO
#7 vs #10 LEAFS vs NYR (great matchup for TB ratings btw)
#8 vs #9 CBS VS NYI
then winners of those preseries are assigned to the bracket via lottery (lottery on which winner is A, which is B, which is C, Which is D):
BOS vs A
PHI vs B
-
WSH vs C
TB vs D
And I still think the lottery % (Det 12%, other 6 non-pre-playoff teams 7% and lostng 8 teams 5% or something like that) is quite a good solution as well. |

Top 2 teams in the conference and the league, but much weaker division.

I would love to see another Boston Toronto matchup... I would watch that. I've watched 2/3 games 6/7 matchups they've had so far. |
