Sticking up for Benning? I disagree. He puts Benning(and himself) in a position when he preaches 3 scoring lines before camp even opens if there isnt enough talent to set more than 1 scoring line.

Green has the talent at his disposal to put together 2 scoring lines but insists on killing the Horvat line.

Well Benning being a genius is my personal narrative, so it makes sense to me.

As a Canucks fan, i'm offended by that statement.

Maybe one day but he isnt showing that yet. His insistence of always making sure Horvat's line is bogged down with grinders and never putting together more than one scoring line shows me that he is stuck in a rut regarding his coaching style. He doesnt defend this coaching tactic neither... instead he preaches a false narrative about 3 scoring lines. Thats pure rubbish. He hasnt the confidence to do that yet and proves it game in, game out. He just tells the fans what they want to hear. Good move because most fans watch with their ears.

Lazy narrative. Who cares what he says to the media Green's best attribute is his arrogance.

Horvat's most common linemates in 2018/19 were Baertschi and Boeser.

Green started the season playing Miller on Horvat's wing with Pearson and they were dominant. He moved Miller off as Petey and Boeser were struggling.

When he had options he played skilled players with Horvat. When he didn't, he tried going back to Eriksson and despite everyone universally deriding he decision, that line was shutting down and outscoring its opponents. It was a bold move which paid off.

One of my favorite games this season was when Horvat and his line destroyed the Bruins 9-3 while hardmatching the best line in Hockey.

Green decided to play Pettersson at C despite everyone, including myself saying he needed to start on the wing. He hadn't played C for over a year.
Virtanen, Boeser, Gaudette all took significant strides this year.

He should be 3rd runner up for coach of the year.

Remember when people were championing Sweden's approach to COVID?

Sweden's controversial decision not to impose a strict lockdown in response to the Covid-19 pandemic led to too many deaths, the man behind the policy, Anders Tegnell, has acknowledged.

Sweden has seen a far higher mortality rate than its nearest neighbours and its nationals are being barred from crossing their borders.

Dr Tegnell told Swedish radio more should have been done early on.

"There is quite obviously a potential for improvement in what we have done."

Sweden has counted 4,468 deaths and 38,589 infections in a population of 10 million, while Denmark, Norway and Finland have imposed lockdowns and seen far lower rates.

Denmark has seen 580 deaths, Norway has had 237 deaths and Finland 320.

Ya, even the guy who came up with the plan says it was wrong. Idiots.

Was going to post the same thing but then didn’t. I think most knew that it wasn’t the best approach and it would backfire. Oh well, live and learn...

well some won’t learn, they will just call it left-wing propaganda that’s treading on their liberty and freedoms to be as dumb and uninformed as they want to be.

Been reading a lot about the “two Americas”. And I couldn’t help to think about Marwood’s poking fun of Lefty’s country club America and Vantel’s questioning of the recent manned rocket launch. Then you have all this large scale civil unrest going on.

The USA really is a weird, complex, bizarre, confusing collection of people.

Hopefully both.
Neem put on his social justice tiara and went after Makita and as you probably noticed, kaptaan returned from his ban to post more racist BS.
I hope Makita returns to posting so that I can tell him what an awful GM Benning is.

Based on data from the Federal Reserve, that’s 15% of the population (up from 7% in 1992). If you’re Black or Hispanic & wealthy that’s 2% of the population. The benchmark is a net worth of $1M or more.

To me, that’s a lot of people making good money in the US. You can see why it’s been status quo for so long. That wealthy 17% really don’t want anything to change.

I’m thinking along with colour discrimination there’s also wealth discrimination and that’s fuelling some of this frustration and anger.

The erosion of the middle class. It just pushes the extremes: extreme wealth and extreme poverty, with a few more rich people getting way too rich and a larger number getting way too poor.

I mean, Jeff Bezos is set to become a trillionaire in 6 years. Who the hell needs that much money? I heard an interesting tidbit a while back about money that plays off the idea that we can't relate to large numbers. The relationship from millionaire to billionaire put into time.

A million seconds is 11.5 days.
A billion seconds is 31.75 years.
A trillion seconds is 31,710 years.
