Just FYI on Sorokin -- he switched agents. He didn't just hire one over here.

Had a well-known agent with many NHL clients prior and switched recently to @HockeyAgent1
, who also has many NHL clients and is well-known.

Still only coming over if he can sign with #Isles
for 19-20.

I guess Staple didn't see Chiefs post from @JeffVeillette below:

Milstein is effectively the biggest Russian agent in the NHL, and was one of the agents blacklisted by the Russian Hockey Federation in May. A move like this all but confirms that Sorokin is going to cross the pond.

I'm thinking that this Milstein(agent) is no relation to our past owner, but you never know.

I like the key stat that the Islander over performers are the goalies. Could have been a lot worse. Goaltending and Defense are going to have to carry this team.

Concerning Sorokin, it is currently in the leagues hands not the teams. Not much you can do but sit back and wait. Lets be honest here. I highly doubt that Lou or Trots would be inserting this kid right into the line up. I could be wrong but I highly doubt it. I also do not think in this cap era that a team will burn a year just so a player can make more.

Don’t believe there’s any relation there.

First Ben, if only Khunackle and BOTH of our goalies over preform vs Florida then that's pretty goddamn sad. Why would you even write the article? We can only play one goalie at a time, right?

As for Staple getting scooped about Sorokin

Yes, let's pray these two Milstein's aren't related/similar in any manner.

Explanation: I had already done the research for it and I'm not going to avoid writing the article after putting that work in just because the stats don't make the Islanders look good.

Honest question Ben, Are the Islanders your favorite team?

Good answer. I was surprised Kuny was the overperformer. You sure dug deep to find a forward for the list.

This was no surprise to me. The Islanders win by committee. Night after night we see a different line, different players step up and get it done. That's how the Islanders are built. Barzal, with the right linemates, may become a player who can drive a game, but right now the Islander talent is spread out thru all the lines. That's in contrast to most teams that invest big in 3 or 4 highly talented forwards and fill out the roster with youth or 'value' forwards that pose little threat.

Hmm... this is a good question.

I was a Leafs fan growing up, probably all the way until midway through university. Still watch them with friends on occasion and I follow the team a bit based on living in the city, but I don't consider myself a Leafs fan now. Since I've been writing more, that's become the case a little bit- I don't really cheer for one specific team anymore.

That said, based the number of games I watched and how closely I followed Carolina and New York this year, I definitely found myself wanting to see them do well and win games.

So long story short, I don't think that I have a favourite team, but I do root for the teams I cover.
