Martin Necas for sure.

He's VERY good and VERY fast.

Maybe not superstar potential, but he'll be a consistent 60+ point offensive threat.

My first thought was Foegele too, but I didn't realize Necas had those numbers! They both were under the radar, and provide different skillsets...valuable!

Came here to see James post one about Gardiner...was sorely disappointed

Necas is going to be an extremely effective 2nd liner for them For a long time. Great kid.

Sad Tanner wasn’t here to go on his bi-weekly Gardiner rant

There were several seasons in which Gardiner outperformed Drew Doughty
-James Tanner

When challenged to name just one season...he took his ball and went home.

My vote for the Hurricanes would be Jaccob Slavin. He is increasingly recognized as a top pair d-man, but I think that's not high enough. He's a top 5-10 d-man in the NHL in my view. Most don't notice because he doesn't play PP and boast larger point totals.

Carolina has a plethora of players that fit the bill here. Canes are already a great team but the rest of the league is really going to figure that out themselves in the next year or two.

Dougie's better than Slavin.

And I LOVE Jaccob Slavin.

Yes he is. The question was who is most underrated, not who is the better player. Hamilton is better and is widely recognized as an elite d-man. Slavin is almost on par, but less recognized. Look at past Norris voting tallies. Hamilton is on the radar. Slavin isn't.

Well look at the name of the article: "Most underrated" does certainly not fit the bill for Gardiner, who has proven himself to be a complete liability in his own end, and has only put up meager offensive numbers thus far.
